I'm not sure he is willing to come here and/or probably prefers a starting spot, but he doesn't have many options now. He's not a great 3 point shooter but he's okay and you expect him to be a little more efficient with lower usage. We could use another athletic wing who can defend and still spaces the floor.

I’d offer him the room exception - either 2 years with a player option for the 2nd or 3 years with a team option for the 3rd. I mean, if he says no. . . it’s not like the Jazz have anything better they could offer him. I think he’d be a great mercenary off the bench.

If they could wrap that up, I’d cut Luka Samanic and move Fontecchio over to more of a 4.

Markkanen - Oubrey - Sensabaugh
Collins - Hendricks - Fontecchio

To me, that’s a pretty solid group of forwards to start with - plus you’ve still got KO who could play some 4 in a pinch if necessary.

Not how it works I think. I’m sure he tried to get a lot more and when he couldn’t he went to a contender for peanuts to rebuild his rep. Don’t think he’d accept that deal with Utah.
