Why not resign AK?

Know it's early but if AK has a good year and would resign at a very reasonable contract why not keep him?

Understand he could be a good bargaining chip but if Jazz can't get what they want in return why not keep him?

Next year Jazz will have big money to spend but if he would sign cheap why let him go.

He has always played good for Jazz.

Why does every one want to get rid of him so much?

I wouldn't pay him more than the full MLE. Considering he plays about 50 games a year, and of those 50, he only competes in about half of them, I wouldn't waste money on a guy who barely ever brings enough to the table. Especially with the ******** baggage that comes with him.

As the other poster mentioned, he is nearly a lock to miss nearly half the season with some new ailment. It is time to let go of the past and move on.

Option 1 : trade him, Option 2: Sign him to a MUCH lower contract, Option 3: Say good bye and enjoy the money you now have available. Which ever option happens I will be happy.

I don't think option 2 is really realistic. Someone will come out of the gates and overpay for him imo. We better just hope it isn't us.

If someone offers him a Huge contract then I will laugh each and every day he is sitting in their stands in a Suit, hurt and collecting THEIR money!

Option 4- AK turns his back on another NBA contract and returns to Russia. I think he'll actually stay in the NBA for 1 more contract but wouldn't be totally shocked if this were to happen. He could return and play for the club he was playing for before Utah drafted him, I believe it was CSK or something like that. I guess AK himself also comes from a pretty wealthy Russian family not to mention the money Masha has made for herself with that god-awful Russian pop music career. The dudes got enough american money that he could walk away from the NBA and live out the rest of his days in Russia like a Czar. Plus, Russia's got some seriously hot women. Not a bad place to be living if you have a free pass once a year.....

Life in Moscow More expensive than in LA.....

As i said somewhere in the forum. AK hopes to stay in Utah after contract is up. Cause Utah is the second homeland for him. He loves this City this community.

He actually plays about 65-70 games a year. There have only been two seasons where he's missed really major time - 04-05 and this past year. I admit that the amount of small injuries he gets is annoying, but the truth is it's not that uncommon among NBA players. Lots of players, good players, average 65-70 a year. Shaq, Brandon Roy, Gasol, Devin Harris, Bogut, Jameer Nelson, among others.

Also, when it comes to his night-in, night-out performance, people too often confuse lack of production for lack of effort. No one is going to deny that his effort was poor during the 06-07 season, but that really hasn't been the case since. He stopped complaining, he found his role, and he's been very consistent in terms of effort in the three seasons since then.

He was basically fine his first three seasons in the league. In the last six seasons though, he's averaged 62.8 games per year. In those, his effort and head has been in the game about as often as it hasn't. It seems like last year, before his injury, he had found his perfect role and was back to the AK of old again. But that was the first time we had seen that in years. Again, I stand by my statement that we should not pay him more than the full MLE. The likelihood that his head is in the game, and he's focused and executing, AND he's healthy are slim.

It's time for AK to go somewhere else. As much as I love looking at his wife with her supple lips and her ample breastage, AK is now a hack of the Hopper variety.

Furthermore, it's ****ing "re-sign" not ****ing "resign."

I get being upset that AK makes 17 Mil a year but saying he is only worth MLE is extremely laughable. And I stand by this statement

Why? Because he has talent and ability that few players have? Great. If only we saw that translate onto the court for more than 25 games a year.

Have any of you seen what contracts have been given out this year?

Outlaw got 7M
Gooden got 6Mish
Thomas got 8M
Korver 5M

You think AK will only get 3-5M? Keep dreaming/smokin

I don't care what he gets somewhere else. I just know what I'd want to keep him for. Just cuz others get certain contracts it doesn't make it a good idea.
