2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Ausar and Keyonte both go 2 or 3 in a re-draft.

Hmm….I don’t know where to put Key or Bilal. As much as I rag on TH for being immediately sent to the G-League, the other side of that is I think it’s impressive that Key has taken command of the starting position of a team that is actually trying to win. Black has looked the part as well despite a tiny offensive role.

The Twins are also a bit older, this is their age 21 season. Same for Miller. Scoot….I have to say I’m suspicious. He was not good in the G-League last season. So while it’s something to be #3 pick, he also was the #3 pick on the basis of being impressive two years ago. Did not look like the athlete he was advertised as to my eye.

Bilal should be up there as well.

Wemby
Scoot
Miller
Ausar
Key?
Amen
Bilal?
Black
Walker
Cason
Taylor

Something like that imo

I think a redraft would be the same, maybe Keyonte goes to Orlando instead of Black? Then that could create a ripple where Jazz takes Walker or Bilal. If not Utah would take Key at 9.

Overreaction Re-draft
1. Wemby
2. Ausar
3. Miller
4. Hawkins
5. Lively
6. Coulibaly
7. Strawther
8. George
9. Wallace
10. Black
11. Jaquez
12. Scoot
13. Amen
14. Podziemsky
15. Dick

If we're taking about a mock draft or in other words, trying to predict what NBA teams would do, you probably have Key too high. He's been good, but a lot of guys have been good.
That’s where I’d have em ranked.

I’m also factoring in summer league and I think his open shooting will improve dramatically. He will be all rookie team this year.

Strawther and Hawkins above George and Wallace is WILD.

Strawther there becouse of his hot preseason shooting? He hasnt done anything in the regular season.
Hawkins has put up points inefficiently, with very low assist rate and bad defense. His 13.7 PPG in almost 30mpg with 38% FG doesnt even look like a good statline.

JHS has been injured since early October. Not much to talk about. Would be cool to see him in the G_league.

Dick just started for the Raptors. His stats are booty cheeks to the maximum, but he's at least getting on the court and looks the part.
Watched the Raptors Bucks game yesterday and Dick certainly didn't look the part in that one. Looked completely overwhelmed.

So I ask: How was Hendricks absolutely included in that 8? Based on what? When even with Cam falling he didn't go top 8 and the Jazz had no issue saying 'yea we liked everyone else better'.

Is your agreement with that theory purely because betting markets said so beforehand? And if so, can we admit they were dead wrong?

Why was it common knowledge that there was a dropoff after 8?

He has been really really bad statistically. Worst player in the draft just going off stats. And his main skill was supposed to be shooting.

I have decided that I will not succumb to the negative posts and thoughts about Hendricks. He hasn’t even played in a regular season game yet. There is tons of reasons why we all and why the front office liked him. We already hit a home-run with Keyonte so we can be a little patient with Hendricks.

Yeah, the reasons are he is tall, athletic, and can make spot up shots.

They went for an upside play and turns out he can barely play basketball.

I don’t think you can average 15/7 and 2 blocks a game in a good college conference as a freshman by barely being able to play basketball.

*A top heavy college conference*

He's had 4 G-League games thus far and he has yet to look like a NBA caliber player in any of them. It's been the worst case scenario for him thus far.

Ochai looked really bad in the G league and has been serviceable in the NBA some players just aren’t built for the g league

Yeah, but I think we are all hoping Hendricks is a bit better than Ochai, whose top end looks like a solid 5th option in a starting lineup.
