2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Says the guy who probably watched none of these dudes play
Tell me the guys we passed on with better production.
(I bet ainge and zanik watched these guys play btw and came to the same conclusion. They probably don't know ball though)

Yeah, they watched, knew he was a project, and drafted him because he's a great athlete. He wasnt the best player.

I'm sure there were other great athletes that didn't produce that they could have drafted. I think they liked the fact that he produced. We will just have to agree to disagree on that.
I did notice the lack of names you provided btw. I will take the w on this one.

Im sure you really have no idea what you're talking about because you dont actually follow the draft.

I'm not going to sit here and play along with your play dumb game. Hendricks was not the best player at 9 and anyone who watched the draft could tell you that. If you want to call him the best prospect or best athlete, sure, that's an opiion that isnt completely invalid, but in no way was he the best player.

I know guys like HH and Bodhi brainwashed yall into actually thinking Hendricks was this NBA ready super prospect, but he wasnt and the smart people in this thread were constantly telling you about it.

Because the Jazz want him to play SF, not PF or small ball center. He would be infinitely more comfortable in those positions, but the Jazz are going to take the 19 year old and train him to be a mismatch. This is going to be hard for him, but is the right thing to do.

If everything goes as planned Hendricks wouldn't overlap Collins at all.

Additionally, Jazz fans have been spoiled by having a small run of Rookies that killed it their first year with Donovan, Kessler, Keyonte, and to a small extent, Ochai. That isn't how this all normally works. Most of the time it looks more like Lyles and Grayson Allen.
I'm not one of the people who expects a ton out of the rookies. I usually expect them to not be great. But what I expect from a top 10 pick is to at least be getting some playing time and be part of the rotation. Is the SF thing something our coaches or FO has said? Did I miss this? I don't think Hendricks is a 3... and if they drafted him to be a 3 they are in for a rude awakening, IMO.

Ya, that's what I figured

It's something Locke has been saying. It's not entirely true, or it's not true in the way you are probably thinking.

They are trying to teach Hendricks to play from perimeter. I dont think they want him doing a lot of ball-handling necessarily, but he isnt involved in constant ball-screens like he was at UCF.

So what do they want him to be? Floor spreading 4? This would be a waste of his athleticism. The more I'm hearing about their plan about him the less impressed and optimistic I am...
