Gotta admit, Cy was dead on with this. Also, I still want Yuta to end up with the Jazz next year. Maybe they’ll get him a year too late as well?

What we are doing is not really what anyone would consider to be tanking. It is just a mentality that " losing is ok if we are developing" as a priority over trying to make a deep playoff run . We are going to be fringe playoff team that probably has no lottery picks this draft as long as the Finnisher keeps playing. He needs to be benched but he wont be sans an injury. I am about ready to go down there and tune him up just to at least get a high upside project like Auser at 11 instead of having the option between Clowney or Black at 161) Hardy seems to be a really competent developmental coach.
2) Jazz is tanking correctly especially with the flattened lottery-odds; giving burn for the young players and simultaneously competing and keeping winning culture. Who knows if the Hornets fan's prediction is correct and Jazz will be awarded for doing it right.
3) Hardcore-tanking is a recipe for disaster for any franchise.
Ausar is not still going to be on the board at 11 and Black's not going to be there at 16.

wanna bet? I don't think Black necessarily falls out of the lottery but Auser could easily slide as it is not that unreasonable depending on draft order that Amen slides some as well.
At the end of the day if one guy has a similar upside but a higher floor most teams are taking that guy over the Thompsons early. Auser lacks the playmaking that makes Amen appealing without the other stuff. I think he slides to 9-12 range
Wouldnt shock me to see Black drop, especially if guys like JHS are rising.
If Black goes to the combine and measures with a mediocre wingspan (almost none of these prospects have official measurements because of covid) and puts up mediocre athletic testing, he could be in to drop out of the lottery. He's has not performed exceptionally well this year and I dont foresee him having a great tourney.
I could see him dropping a little but I have a hard time seeing him dropping all the way to 16. I really think he'll end up being a lottery pick.
Simone being a rotation quality player is one of the better things to happen to the Jazz this year. Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is anything positive to do with him. I don't think he really has any trade value with less than a year left on his contract, but I'm also not sure if he's worth re-signing with where we are at in our rebuild.

Good call Cy!!! Simone has been huge for us these past two games, and playing well all season. He's settled into his role now as an NBA player and he's still bringing that frenetic energy only now it's more focused. The kid is surprisingly athletic and not afraid to get up into marquee players on defense. That defensive prowess is what really gets me excited.
He is actually the 4th oldest guy in the roster at 27. But your points are still good.

He was the man this summer for the Italian Team in the Reindeer Games. The guy is a baller but I'm not sure where he fits in the future for Dr. Ainge.
He's definitely worth keeping

He might want more money and more minutes but he's shown he can play
