What's new

Keyonte's pouting now needs to be taken seriously

Picked it up from Sexton. I also don't like it.
Collin gets a little antsy too. All in all I like Key's confidence. When he was micd up there was a lot to like. Though I am sure its a little annoying for vets to have a "vocal" rookie.

I'm impressed with Keyonte and his improvement throughout the year. His role has moved around a bunch. He seems to be playing his more authentic game now and not forcing things while also not just being passive.

If all we really have to criticize the kid is a little negative body language I'd say he's doing just fine.

I know I have lots of bad body language and annoyance with the lack of ball movement with this team. The Warriors are overrated and getting old, but they sure move the ball well.

The one game I went to this year he was very vocal in the timeouts even when he wasn't playing. He was talking a lot breaking down plays. I'm pretty high on him in general even if I don't like some habits like that. He just needs a few things to be really good, like strength.

I think maybe the point of the thread is lost on some. His pouting now needs to be taken seriously because he's going to demand to be taken seriously. This dude has his eyes on running the team.
Hardy is fast tracking him for that. He's the new Darius garland, taking over Sexton's hopes and dreams.

Actually, sextons minutes have remained consistent through keyontes minutes increase. So has Sextons production.
In fact, last game sexton had one of his highest minutes games of the season and produced statistically much higher than normal. A high in points with the jazz actually.

Garland and Sexton played a lot together as well. Eventually they chose tho and so will the Jazz

I love Sexton but Keyonte will hopefully be as good as he is and we'll have him on a rookie contract.

IMO, OP’s point is valid - his body language can be cheeks at times. He’s also only 20. Not going to crucify him for it yet. If it’s still an issue in two years then we may have an issue.

All in all though he has been awesome. Tons of talent and swagger for days. He plays with an innate, cold blooded edge that not many guys have.

He needs to get tons better but the talent, makeup, and drive seems to be there.

Ya your predictions with sexton have been wrong so far. Anything you post sexton related needs to be taken with a grain of salt due to your historical saltiness about him.

Might be that the jazz thinks it a good thing to have multiple good players on the team.

Sexton is better with the jazz than he was with Cleveland.

Ah so you are of the opinion that the jazz wouldn't want more than 1 good player on a team?

What does keyonte being as good as sexton have to do with Sexton being gone?

I like Sexton now fyi, but I still don't see a long future thing him. I just think George is better. I would like to keep Sexton, but he also has value and only two years left on his deal. The Jazz won't be able to afford his next deal if his future is to be a 6th man behind Keyonte.

Size. You want to pay 25+ million to Sexton to be a 6th man. I just don't see them as a starting backcourt that can go far in the playoffs.

Eh, jazz had Conley and Mitchell as their back court just a few years ago.

Conley and Mitchell. Sexton is bigger than Conley and plays bigger and key is bigger than donovan

They looked really good as a starting backcourt in our last game

Sexton plays bigger on offense. Conley played bigger on D and was much better overall on D.

Also none of those guys are as good as Donovan it's such a dumb comparison.

He's going to get trade this off-season or at the deadline.
