Following Potential 2025 Draftees

If the Cavs trade Donovan -- likely to the Nets, since the Nets have assets from PHX -- the Cavs would probably pick up a few rotational players and a heavy pick package. The Cavs' pick in '25 could very easily end up in the lottery.
My hot take is the pick ends up lotto next year no matter what happens with Don. Donny has broken down during the season multiple times and I’m wondering if he signs the extension then is in and out of the lineup all year if that hurts worse than moving him. Then if he’s broken for the play in the end up backend of the lotto for us.

Cleveland without Mitchell should look fairly similar to the Hawks. Maybe they yield a pick in the 10 - 12 range.

Cleveland without Mitchell would have some replacement talent and assets to get more. It would also clarify Garland's role and maybe he levels back up. I wonder if Don staying and playing 40-50 games messes things up just right.

Reed Sheppard should return and save the program
I could actually see it given the family history. It would be a tough financial decision but that family loves that program.

That's a wild take.

As long as they have Garland, Mobley, and Allen, they should finish in at least the top half of the play in. The East is going to continue to get a bit weaker in the back end of the playoff race next year. Heat/Hawks/Bulls/Nets/Raptors dont really have great immediate future outlooks. Even if Donovan missed the entire year the Cavs would still finish above all those teams.

I think people really underrate Mobley just because he hasnt made an all-star turn or drastically increased his shooting range. The dude is incredibly good.

Nobody is underrating him. We just got his hyped shoved down our throats about how he’s a mix of Garnett and Duncan.

I said it was hot. Donny gets hurt… Harland/Mobley miss 15+ games… they capped out. Then hit the play in where a team catches em limping. I think they were like .500 without Donny this year. It’s a flaming hot take and if it’s wrong no one remembers… if it’s right I’ll dig it up lol.
