I do find Luka annoying and believe the price to obtain him via trade would be too high (as it is probably with all super-stars).

I just dont think you can trade for a SS and compete unless they are coming to you on a 1 year deal w/ no guarantee of re-signing so you get a discount on the trade. (Like Kawhi to Toronto)

What if the jazz could trade Luka samanic for Luka doncic? Would you be down with that trade from a jazz perspective?

OP said that the jazz should never even think of trading for Luka. Then listed the reasons why not. None of the reasons were that we would have to give up too much.

Luka averaged 10 assists per game this season. (To go along with his 34 points and 9 rebounds)

3rd most assists per game in the entire NBA.

Luka is #1 in the NBA in points per game, #3 in assists per game, #15 in rebounds per game, is 24 years old and just drug his team to the finals.
And he is still getting better. This season was his most points per game, most assists per game, most games won in a season and 2nd most rebounds per game of his career.

Kyrie is shooting 40% from the field and 29% from 3.
Washington shooting 42% and 29% from three.
Derrick Jones Jr 39% and 17%
Josh green shooting 30% and 40%
Jaden hardy 44% and 33%

And these dudes are getting open looks due to Luka getting so much defensive attention.

Luka passing to his teammates more so they can brick shots would only make the margin of the losses bigger

The Celtics being up 3 - 0 is on the shoulders of Luka teammates more than himself.
