Curry in the game today. 14 field goal attempts. 13 Three point attempts.
against serbia? 19 field goal attempts and 14 three point attempts.

When I was in high school my favorite basketball t shirt said "why take a two when you can drain the three?" on it. Curry understands that concept. (I was a great three point shooter back in the day as well)

See above post.
Rodman was a hall of famer. And he had goat role players who might have looked much better if mike wasn't taking all the shots (lebron makes his teammates look better due to his playmaking)
Kukoc, kerr, grant, harper, oakley, were some great players. Probably had the best coach of all time too.

But I put Jordan ahead of lebron because he was the best scorer I ever saw by a long shot (kinda like steph is the best shooter by a long shot). And putting the ball in the hoop is the best thing to be the best at in basketball. Plus he was tremendous defender and the most clutch.

They didn't score as many points per game back in jordans day and games often finished in the 80's for point totals. Yet Jordan had season averages of 37 (!!!), 35, 34, and a bunch more over 30 per game. If he were playing at todays pace he might have averaged like 42 per game or something. Crazy stuff.

And he was a pretty crappy 3 point shooter like most players in that era. Imagine if he developed a 3 ball. Holy crap. His field goal percentages were always amazing even though his 3 point percentages were crap.

Yeah forgot about The Worm.

Lebron led the team in minutes in the gold medal game and finished with 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 14 points. I saw him guarding wemby 1 on 1 in the 4th quarter a number of times and same thing in the serbia game with him going against joker.

I dont hate him getting the mvp at all but would have gone with steph.

Though I didn't watch the games earlier in the olympics much so maybe lebron was better in total for the olypmics and steph just went crazy in the 2 biggest games but wasn't so great in the earlier games. IDK.

Yeah, they really won this game because of Curry. Did Lebron or Curry contribute more vs. Serbia?
I don’t know, but I think most people in this discussion are not acknowledging that Lebron was the defensive last-resort at 5 positions and also is a huge rebounding presence.

Lebron’s contributions in the totality of the game are unmatched by anyone ever.

How are you defining this? Rodman played multiple all-star games.
He acknowledged he forgot about rodman

Steph is just hands down by far the best shooter the world has ever seen.
I made this comment a few years ago but you take a player like harden. People think of him as a pretty good shooter that you wouldn't want to leave open from 3.

Harden has a total of zero seasons above 40% from 3.
15 seasons under 40%

Durant has 7 seasons over 40%. And 10 seasons under 40%

Ray Allen had 8 seasons over 40%. And 10 seasons under 40%

Dirk had 5 seasons over 40%. And 16 seasons under 40%

Steph? 13 seasons over 40% from 3. 1 season under 40% (38% that year). I'm not including his 2019-20 season because it was only 5 games long.

You can pick most any player you think of as a good shooter and Steph blows them away.
Only one who comes close was his teammate, klay Thompson.

Klay had 9 seasons over 40% and 2 seasons under 40%.
Klay is at 41.3% for his career and Steph is at 42.6%

Huge difference though is Stephs volume. 9.2 three point attempts per game for his career (with seasons as high as 12 three point attempts per game) while klay is at 7.6 three point attempts per game.

Steph is also shooting 91% from the line for his career.

Just easily the best shooter ever.

I just realized Lauri has taken more three pointers (7.7 and 8.0, with 39.1% and 39.9% clip) last two seasons, than what Klay's 3pa career average (7.6) is.

Speaking of Scottie Pippen… Jazz Twitter is listing after Bilal today. He had a dunk and some nice defense but not sure why folks are slobbering… what did I miss? He banked an elbow jumper and also had a 5 step travel that got missed somehow and muffed the layup. Not saying he sucks but was he awesome today and I wasn’t locked in or sumthin?

Yes. Obviously. If he doesn't get hurt then he is pretty much guaranteed to be a top 5 player within the next 5 years imo. And he would just be about to enter his prime at that point lol.
I do think he has to cha.ge his mentality at some point. He just settles for so much. He's going to get better at making those shots but to be the GOAT he has to get some easier buckets
