Following Potential 2025 Draftees

FWIW, Rocco Zikarsky would likely be an upgrade over Walker Kessler because Rocco can score in different ways outside of 5 feet, and he can take a dribble or two. His skill level seems to be comparable to his countryman Andrew Bogut entering the league, though he doesn't have Bogut's wide body.

Rocco is like 5 years away from maybe being a better player than Kessler.

Offensively, he may already be better than Kessler. All Kessler does is roll and go up soft. There's no touch, no baby hook, no dribble moves, etc. Gobert was limited offensively, but at least he could go up strong and dunk.

You are basing this off of his 4.5pts/game in the NBL?

I'm not a Rocco hater, I really don't have an opinion, but this post should be flagged for Kessler hate.

Not a worthy upgrade. I wouldnt really consider him even with the Minny pick if it's late teens.

Rocco is averaging 5 PPG in Australia and shooting 45%. He's not better than Kessler on offense. I'm getting extremely tired of people commenting about Kessler because of the aesthetics or having "no moves". His offensive impact is that of an average NBA center. If you want to **** on Kessler, at least do it on the basis of his impact and not what looks cool or what looks less soft.

Based on the skill level he shows. So far, he's only played a couple games and played limited minutes. There isn't meaningful data from the NBL at this point.

Bro, it's not about "looking cool." It's about the fact that Walker can't score unless he's set up with time and space 4 feet from the basket. As for data, the sample sizes are small and are based on an 18 y.o. in his first professional league.

I don't think Kessler is a long-term fixture with the Jazz. He's a defensive presence and a good personality. There's a reason why there are trade rumors around him, and there are also reasons why the offers coming in are soft--e.g., salary dump and late 1st.

Rolling to the basket, finishing, and getting offensive rebound is most of the job on offense for C's. Most shots outside of 4 feet for C's are complete garbage, you don't want them to shoot it anyways. He's efficient at scoring around the basket and one of the best offensive rebounders in the game. We wouldn't be better off if Kessler was better from floater range but not as good around the basket. Of course there are things you wish he was better at, but those are the things that take him from average to great. People act like the most garbage, ineffective offensive player.

Again, if you want to say Kessler sucks so bad on offense, do it on the basis of his impact...not the aestetics. All metrics have him as about a neutral offensive player, above average in his rookie year and worse than that in his soph season.

You guys never heard of Egor Demin I guess.

He is an 18 year old from Russia. 6 foot 9.
Demin represented Russia at the 2021 FIBA U16 European Challengers tournament where he had per-40-minute averages of 21.1 points and 6.9 rebounds.[13] His performance at the tournament received comparisons to Luka Dončić by ESPN journalist Mike Schmitz.

I think you guys will learn about him soon.

I'm pretty sure most of the posters in this thread have heard of him. Personally I'm not going to pay attention to guys until they play real games.

Idk. I asked if there was any buzz about him and soon after a bunch of the knowledgeable posters posted but didn't give any mention.

I just figure that means he isn't well known. I wouldn't know who he was if wasn't on BYU roster, that's for sure. I don't know how big time of a prospect he is either, hence why I asked the question. Maybe he just isn't getting any buzz
