2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

The Cody pick is a pretty big indictment on his record, especially given the talk that Cody would have been in the mix if they landed a top 5 pick.
Well the biggest black mark is I was telling people that he wasn’t that good. I even had a mini debate with T Jones about it. He tried to tell me he could dribble and shoot and I disagreed with him. Said I didn’t see much skill or exploration in his game, and that he could only shoot in spot up situations and he can’t even do that. And Danny still would’ve taken him top 5

Yeah, if the coach is in on the plan. If Hardy coaches to win we will not be a bottom-3 team. He appears willing to play ball at this point/for now.
Even if Coach wasn’t in on a tank, you need guys that can score and run an offensive system at pg or any willing passer, and Lauri isn’t scoring for whatever reason.

I mean, hopefully, but the Jazz are 29th in defense this year after being 30th in defense last year.

I would guess most of that is on Keyonte, Sexton, and Hardy, but still.
Yeah. Kessler is two things: rim protector and alley-oop dunker. He literally does nothing else.

On defense, he still can't switch, close people out or guard anywhere near the perimeter. He also plays way too passively in the drop because his one and only comfort zone is right under the basket.

The less said about his offense, the better.

As a pure rim protector / shot changer Kessler is obviously great, but I think he's playing near his ceiling and overall is a very flawed player. He should be a bench center in this league.

I used to be against trading Walker, but the whole roster is such a clown show now that it's probably better to go scorched earth. Lauri should absolutely be gone in the offseason too.

I won't trade Walter. He can be useful once we are good again ( when?) as he is young. Trade Sexton, Collins, JC if we can. We are bottom 3-4 anyway with all those guys.

Obviously a few on that list pop like Jalen Brunson and arguably Draymond Green. But amI would rather have 2 years with Collins than at least 8 of those players given the length of their contracts and performance.

Clarkson is completely untradeable.

Sexton can probably get 2-3 seconds.

Collins would take attaching 2-3 seconds to dump.
That Collins value assessment is like straight from 2023.

He is bullying Lauri on the advanced stats, and however much you would want to put that on Lauri playing poorly this year, its also quite obvious to anyone watching the games that Collins has evolved his game and improved a lot as a player. The finger injury that once destroyed his value is also 100% history.

Tobias Harris got paid the same AAV that John Collins makes, and hasnt played as well in years as John has this season.
