If Memo is ready

If Memo is ready to play on opening day would that change anything the Jazz should be doing?

I find it hard to believe he will be ready opening day but that's what reports are saying.
How long would that have been from his surgery to opening day?
The need for a C would be less urgent.
Just sign Fes and Jazz still have three C's.
Also KOC does not seemed panicked by losing Matthews so maybe he still has some options.
Still a long way to start of season so KOC has time to surprise every one.

Okur can't be ready to go at % 100 on opening day. Its against all medical history concerning similar injuries. However Okur is the anti-Boozer in that he will try and play if there is any chance that he can go at % 70 or over. That sore Achilles tendon he played on the last couple of weeks of the season might not have resulted in the rupture directly, but lets admit if Boozer had a similar pain it would be 6-8 weeks minimum. So even if Okur is on the court he will be far from % 100 healthy and ready.

There is no reason for Okur to play if he isnt at or near 100%, I dont want a gimpy Okur out there, Id rather have KK or Fess.

SIDENOTE: Kosta is now KK, not KK2, what a great day for him.

I want to believe that Memo will be close to %100 opening night. I am not high on this one but he said that accorfing to what he learned from his doctors, he was ahead of the regular schedule of rehab process. That's encouraging. At least we know, have witnessed that Okur does not fake injuries and tries to play through injuries instead of fabricating/making excuses.

However, regardless of him coming back, we still need to find another PF or C that can make contributions to the team. Not a player like Okafor. His contract is just ridiculous. Even Chandler or Nazr Mohammed is Ok to me because thieir contracts are expiring. Or, Joe Smith, Etan Thomas etc. who will not demand too much money and can help Fes and Kosta develop their games.

kk2 will always and forever be, BOOM BITCHES!!!! That was a day to remember

A day to remember in what sense? I'm interested to know. I was not around on the board when this particular play went down and the ensuing fest.

Say what you want about memo's ole' defense, but the dude is tough as nails. You gotta respect the guy for playing through a painful injury. I am too lazy to calculate the numbers, but I remember hearing somewhere that he's been the most reliable player on our roster for the past several years in terms of games played per season.

That was probably the single most fun I've ever had on the internet. You should have been here. Glorious times.

I agree, Memo actually puts effort in his D, not like Loozer...

I posted this in another thread but I can see KOC use their TPE (via Harp) on Jeff Foster.

I'm hoping for a return by Christmas. Like others have said, there's no sense in Okur rushing back. It's my greatest hope that he's kicking *** in rehab, trying to eat well and stay in relatively decent shape all things considered, so as to minimize the weight on the Achilles, and in doing so, will come back in the best shape of his life. If he could work out better than ever before, lose about 5-10 pounds and therefore improve his lateral quickness and jumping, that would be sweet.

Pipe dream over.
