UPDATE: damn those people are morons. Half seem to think Lyles is as good or better (JC has DOUBLE the PER, >3 points better in BPM on a terrible team).

That’s kinda weird on Lyles. From the folks I talk with they really dont mention him. I mean by all means send us Carter you dumbasses. That’s just robbery.

Collins would be an upgrade over Harris, but a bit redundant and you'd have 51 million combined between them tied up and I dont think they work all that well together. Sexton makes much more sense.

No picks or players worth a damn? I guess I need to research how Klintman has been doing to understand if there’s any merit to this, but 95% of fan proposals are absolute rubbish, so I’m gonna guess not.

Edit: I guess this is a salary dump but I don’t know what the Jazz are supposed to do with the savings besides be a dumping ground for bad salary and the returns in recent years on that strategy have been poor.

I don’t think it happens but it would be a Detroit thing to do. Klintman was the 37th pick in this years draft. A few of us on here liked him in that range. We shed a ton of salary next year and get a decent prospect. Like I said I think he ends up in Sacramento just spitballing some random trades here.
 
The top story on RealGM is about how the Heat are trying to get win-now players that expire in ‘26 because if they miss the playoffs and don’t convey their pick to OKC this year, it triggers conveying an unprotected pick to OKC in ‘26 and an unprotected pick in ‘28 to Charlotte (yikes, what a ****ing mess).

Is there a better answer to their quandary than Collins and Sexton (+ spare future-facing assets) for Butler salary matching? There is no scenario where they hit a home run here, they just need to not completely faceplant. This would obviously be a 3+ team deal.

How funny would it be to get one of our picks back?

Sidenote: one downside to the trade for the Suns pick is that we basically can’t trade the Wolves picks back to them for Anthony Edward’s in x-number of years when the wheels come off and they have no way to get better.
