What's new

GAME THREAD: Utah @ Golden State, 2/2/12, 8:30 Utah time

Salo the only thing I have say about the Miles comment is that this is his 7th year. he is not new anymore. yes he is young but he has been on the Jazz longer than any other player. Guy should know not to make the stupid plays he does.

As for me personally I am for a trade if it makes the team better but I am not for trading for the sake of trading.

Also Chitown your Bipolarness makes me smile.

I've been C.J.'s biggest supporter, but at this point I agree he is expendable if the deal is right. Yes he plays like a bonehead sometimes, but so do 97% of the players in the NBA. But you can't deny his physical attributes and what he can get done on the court.

I'm glad my posts make you smile. People can make all the judgements they want about my character based on the posts of mine they've read, but my passion for the Jazz and insatiable hunger to see them succeed is undeniable. That is at the root of every post I make regarding the Jazz, and given the up and down nature of this season so far - bipolar is an excellent way to put it.

Yea I mean the tone of your posts instead of the topic itself. One you are extremely high then in the next your are extrmeemly negative then BAM! right back to hihg lol.

No need to over-react to this game. I live in the Bay Area and all the media considered this to be best game Curry and Ellis have had together this year... by far. And on the occasions when Biedrins decides to play hard he is very good on the offensive glass, and when you mix in Lee, all of a sudden GS isn't so bad on the boards. The local guys considered this to be "hot" game for the Warriors... and when teams get hot they are very hard to shut down.

I love some of the other threads blaming Burks play at PG for the loss.... insane...

I was actually... very disappointed with the Jazz last night. Not because they lost and not even because they played poorly, but because they gave up. That's inexcusable.

I really hope we don't see that ever again from this group. They'd solidified themselves in my mind as fighters, even in (actually, especially in) their losses. And then that happens.

Watson's a fighter. Bell isn't all that good anymore, but he's a fighter as well. Maybe they're more important than we thought.

Bell has been out the last two games, we have lost the last two games. Correlation? Maybe.

I love Tinsley's 13 assists but his defense or lack of thereof was exposed today. Curry just toyed with him in iso and did everything he wanted - crossovers and all the way to the rim or step back jumper. If he goes to the rim one of the bigs had to move out of position and give up an easy offensive rebound. After 5010 of such plays guys just gave up.

i won't disagree that cj still makes bad decisions at both ends of the court. i'd have been more optimistic about his potential years ago if he'd done played more of this driving and penetrating style. it's not always successful or even convincing but often enough this year he's getting to the hoop and finishing. defensively he still reaches too much and gives up fouls when he doesn't need to - if sloan couldn't coach those habits out of him in six seasons i don't know if he will ever overcome them.

i don't think he's ever been 'untouchable' from the jazz's point of view. his minutes were always erratic under sloan and the deal we currently have him signed for is probably about right. he could easily be used as an extra piece for the right trade anytime.

like i said before, he's only really ever been a second round-type talent and keeping that in mind i reckon we get good value out of him.

(on a final note i can't believe that anti-cj thread is up to... what, 70 pages by now??!! i don't know if boozer ever had a thread that long!!)

For everyone complaining about CJ, it should be worth noting that over the last 10 games before last night's horror show: 22 minutes, 14.6 pts on 46/22 shooting, 5 free throws per, 1 steal and 1 assist. Yeah, the 3 pt shooting is a nightmare, but find me another guy who puts up those numbers in 22 minutes.
