The Trump Crash

We should also remember that consumers had low confidence in the economy in Jan 2021 because Donald was still president for most of that month. Biden didn’t become president until Jan 20, 2021.
Hey dumb-dumb, consumer confidence is a forward-looking metric. It measures optimism or pessimism over future economic conditions. The cratering of the metric in January 2021 was because Joe Biden took office on January 20, 2021. Nice self-own.

Holy ****….

Definitely wasn’t because we were 10 months into a completely mishandled pandemic response by the President.

Lol
Right?

It’s hilarious how trumpers have memory holed the last two years of Donald’s presidency. Blackmailing zelensky, telling people to stick flashlights up their asses, and trying to start a race war. We knew in November of 2020 that we couldn’t continue with this same crap in charge. But even with change, we knew the climb back was going to be hard. The Biden admin deserves a lot of credit for pulling us out of the abyss so quickly. And trump deserves all the blame for ruining our economy in just 3 months. Remarkable

Exactly! We were 10 months into the pandemic, had a vaccine with a sizable chunk of the most vulnerable already vaccinated, knew at that point COVID wasn't going to wipe everyone out, and lockdowns were easing. We could have put a potted plant behind the resolute desk and everyone would have said brighter days are coming, but it was Joe Biden who took office and America said "This is bad! This is really, really bad. I am not optimistic about our future."

You can argue that maybe the Jan2021 American people weren't correct in their assessment of their immediate future, but you can't argue, as dumb-dumb did, that consumer confidence isn't a forward-looking metric.

If trump was smart he would have simply shut down the border and did the no men in women's sports executive action and then just chilled out and let the economy do it's thing.
Then I think most everyone would be pretty happy with him. People on the right would be happy. Independent voters would be happy. People on the left would still hate trump but they wouldn't have very much to criticize him for.

Instead he takes away services for people on all parts of the political spectrum, kills our 401k accounts and stocks, fires a **** load of people, raises inflation even more, pisses off all our allies, and embarrasses our country in a daily basis. And a ton of other dumb crap that pisses off lots of Americans.

I mean it would have been so easy to be successful. He was set up so nicely, again. But he decided to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Don't forget the fascist plan part. He gives not a single **** If people like him any more. He got what he wanted from his cult followers, they put him back in the white house like good little sheep, now the plan shifts to ensure he cannot be removed from office and can run his dictatorship like his dominatrix Putin. His focus is so far from any of that **** now. He's completely dialed in on remaking the government to fit the fascist agenda. Just like Hitler. Hitler was all about the people until he was in power, then his focus shifted and none of that mattered any more. We are now just waiting for our own version of the Night of the Long Knives. And mark my words...it is coming.

100 percent this.

This will fly over the head of some of our trolls because they’re stupid. But for the rest of us normal people, this helps break down how asinine Trump’s economic policy is and what these tariffs are likely to do to our economy (it’s not good). Also, this isn’t coming from a “liberal.” It’s coming from the Econ department in Harvard, some of the most conservative folks out there.

Enjoy!

You constantly using the hyperbole of "sticking flashlight up their asses" is a turn off for me. It really detracts from your message, IMHO.

I would certainly hope so. You and I have fundamental disagreements on many things, but I view you as a good person trying to do the right thing. I have that same view of many who disagree and even endlessly insult me, but that does not extend to Thriller. That guy makes too many comments about kids and gay books. That he over and over comes back to this same imagery of rectal insertion years after COVID has stopped being anything the rest of us are worried about exposes a fixation. That it pings a warning disgust response in your psyche leaving you uneasy with the comment confirms my earlier opinion of you, and I'm glad you chose to speak up.
