Hayward's minute versus Lakers ... strange

Hayward, I think, play over 30 minutes (most of any Jazz player), in only 3 quarters (sat the 4th).

Can't figure out why.

He was playing solid D, average offensively....


bizaree minute rotation that I have seen to date with Gordon.

Any theories ?

Hayward always plays most of the 1st and 3rd quarter, then the last portions of the 2nd and 4th quarter if he is playing well. If he is playing bad, he gets yanked earlier in the 1st and 3rd.

CJ was playing pretty well. And then Ty has unbelievable belief in Raja "The Kobe Stopper" Bell. Too bad that is a figment of his imagination.

I get that. Yesterday was way different.

He play almost the while 1st. 2/3 rd of the second and the entire 3rd.

He got more minutes than he averages for a game in 3 quarters.

Just thought it was strange.


I was not impressed with CJ last nite. He did make a 3, but he was basically in Chucker mode.

Because the Harris-Hayward combo could do a damn thing. If the Lakers could make a shot then this would have been a blowout in the 3rd.

CJ had 2 key buckets on high % shots in the Jazz Q4 bench run that broke the game open, a nice OPEN mid range J, and then a nice close one.

If he could play like that most of time, it'd be awesome.

I thought that Hayward was doing just as good if not a better job of guarding, not stopping Kobe. CJ had one or two good plays but Hayward was playing just as aggressive but getting the benefit of the call a lot more than normal.

Hayward got called for one foul on Kobe where he maintained about 6 inches of space on the shot attempt.

The play Kobe got T'd on, there wasn't much contact, and if the ref were to call it, then it would have been on the floor, and taken away Kobe's layup.

I cry no tears for Kobe if he doesn't get Blake Griffin treatment anymore.
