Poker Face = Justified?

I'm that way with Mad Men
I tried that one as well and gave up. Didn't like it at all.
One that I tried and actually liked but still kind of gave up on is Peaky Blinders. I should probably go back to that show eventually and finish it. Not sure why I gave up on it.

Man I've heard so much good about Justified but when it was still airing my wife and I watched the first episode or two and weren't into it. Maybe I'll go back and give it another shot. I'm currently watching The Sopranos after never watching it while it was on. Pretty good. I'm on S2 E4, watching it solo.

This is how I felt. I watched all of season 1 and half of 2 iirc. Nothing about it felt like great or even very good tv to me. It was good, nothing more. For me.

We really wanted to like it too because we loved Timothy Olaphant in Deadwood.

So I have watched some more of Poker Face and its nothing like Justified. Still a really good show but its a straight up comedy. Justified was often funny but never corny/cheesy and not a comedy. This show is corny/cheesy and quite funny. Good acting (quite a few cameos from pretty famous actors) and good writing with lots of laughs. Each episode has little to do with the previous episodes.
People on reddit compare it to Monk, Columbo, Only Murders In The Building.

I could see a comparison to "Only Murder in the Building" as far as being mostly comical, but that show sets up one murder at the beginning of the season and then follows that mystery to its conclusion on the final episode of the season.

Anyway, I think I'll check it out as soon as I finish The Sopranos.

Two things I have really enjoyed about his show are that the main character really grows on you. After like the 4th or 5th episode you wont be able to not like her personality. She is dope and cool and goofy and just really likeable. The other thing is its fun to see what actors will be in each episode. Almost every episode has multiple actors that you know from other shows/movies. Lots of cameos. Not A listers like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or Julia Roberts but not B listers either. Lots of B+/A- actors lol.
Names like Nick nolte and Adrian Brody. That kind of level of actor.

I loved the TV series Justified. One of my favorite shows of all time.
I started watching this show called Poker Face (im on episode 3 of season 1 currently) and it reminds me so much of Justified. Its not really similar to Justified at all as far as the plot/storyline goes but when I watch it I get the same exact vibe as I did watching Justified.
Both shows overlap genres greatly. They are both crime shows/comedies/dramas/mysteries all at the same time. And the writing has a very similar feel to it. I wouldn't be surprised if both shows share some of the same writers.

Anywho, I recommend any Justified fans out there (looking at you @LogGrad98 ) to give Poker Face a try. Im loving it so far.

lol that’s why I like Poker Face!

Justified is one of my all time favorites too. So true!
