Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I might have to fade Tre after digging into so many numbers recently.
The more I look at his numbers the less I like him, the more I look at his film the more I like him. He will be a tricky one for me. I usually value what numbers say a lot, especially when they go heavily against what my eyes are telling me... but I feel like I just cannot quit Tre. He just checks too many boxes of the things we need... and his physical/athletic profile actually is pretty good too. I feel like I know the risks and he can easily be Malik Beasely in the league... but I think at 5... if he's there, he probably gives us the best chance at a top tier offensive initiator.

Agree with a lot of this. He’s weak in many areas that historically predict NBA success, while his main strength (shot-making) is both incredibly volatile to predict and questionable in terms of actual winning impact. Could definitely be wrong here, but my entire draft process is screaming red flag on this one.

I prefer guys who attack the rim, score efficiently, create for others, play defense, and rebound - but I can also close my eyes and go with vibes instead

Reminder that Risacher and Sarr went #1 and #2 last year. The French, in particular, have been doing well, and there's a pile of them this year.
Are they good or were they overdrafted? Time will tell.

Tre at 3 and Maluach at 14 are my biggest zags I would say. A lot of people have CMB, Essengue, and Maluach inside their top-5.
I'm not a Malauch guy at all, but I feel like you would need to find a way to trade up and get him if he was at 14. I may be wrong though.

If we trade down for Kon, trade up for Malauch. Having Kon is basically a pre-condition for me to want Maluach.

I don't really understand the "Utah has the infrastructure for Ace to succeed" because of vets or whatever.

1. Our vets are maybe getting dumped (I would be shocked if Collins and Sexton weren't moved)
2. Our vets are uhhhhhhhhhhh, not the most shining examples of winning players outside of maybe Markkanen. They're all nice guys who try hard, but they're catastrophes on defense and not good at passing.

He didn’t mention vets at all. He said because of the head coach, front office, and organization.
