Following Potential 2025 Draftees

View attachment 18861
I got the gist of this from a Spurs forum. They are enamored with the idea of getting Durant.

The Suns want to win and get younger.

They jazz can take contracts so long as we move up in the draft.

Essentially this gets the Spurs Kevin Durant and Kon or Tre or Ace in exchange for dropping 3 spots and 7 spots.

The suns get off Durant and get Lauri back. I am sure they will want something else in this deal. Not sure what, but they get off of a 36 year old diva for an all star that fits their timeline. Maybe they get the 21st pick?

There is a lot to like for all 3 teams if you buy the Durant to Spurs rumors.
Maybe the spurs want Durant but I wouldn't if I were them. He is too old imo. They are ready to compete for a title yet. I would rather have Lauri if I were them

I'm less excited about Harper than I was before, but it's likely because I haven't watched any of his film or thought about him for the Jazz in a long time. At one point I would have considered getting Harper a genuine franchise building block, but I'm not sure any more.

If there are any real legs to Utah trading up to grab Harper I'll go watch some video and get hyped again. For now I'm content to not be worried about losing out on him.

Idk, with the news Harper isn't just working out for SAS, there has to be legitimacy to the Spurs not being 100% in on drafting Harper

It also just makes logical sense that a team who feels they are ready to compete sooner than later would not want to wait on a young guard to get up to speed. Harper might be Cade, but even Cade took 3 years to become a positive player and 4 years to be a really difference making player. And that's likely the best case scenario.

  • Flagg
  • Harper
  • Bailey
  • Edgecombe
  • Kasparas
  • Johnson
That's probably my rock solid, impenetrable top 6. I really dont see anyone falling out or anyone over taking them.

I looked at Tankathon today and they had Kon #6. He has been playing really well. I just struggle to see him overtaking anyone with his very limited physical tools.

Riley at 21 would be among my least favorite potential picks there.

Jak can barely handle against pressure, cant defend 1 on 1, overly relies on step-backs to get open and doesnt get much seperation, and doesnt shoot off the catch. He had one dunk attempt all season despite being 6'6.

I think he's a combo of Grevis Vasquez and D'Angelo Russell. His swing skill is becoming a much better off-ball player.

If I'm wrong on him it's becuase he became a really good off-ball shooter and transforms into a high level connector. I also like that he has enough size/IQ to be hidden on the wing defensively, but he will get targeted in the PO.

The sample size on his catch shoot is extremely small, like 35 attempts. It's such a small sample size that one more make would have taken him from 34% to 37%. All of the indicators and the fact that he is extremely young, make it hard for me to believe he couldn't play off ball if that's where his career ends up.

The comp for Kas that I still like the best is Podz.

Podz - 6'5" , 11'.3.5" max reach (reach + vert), 11.16 lane agility, 3.2 shuttle, 3.21 sprint, projected NBA 3pt% .373
Kas - 6'6", 11'2.5" max reach (reach + vert), 10.99 agility, 2.82 shuttle, 3.22 sprint, projected NBA 3pt% .369
