There's zero consensus between the mocks at #5. I can't see VJ being there at 5 - that would be crazy.

At #21 a few sites have us taking Sorber. There are several guys I wouldn't mind at #21 so I hope we keep the pick.

Everyone has Fears at #5. Either an excellent smokescreen, or he is the pick.

My last hunch is that it's a smokescreen. Just... seems very unlike this Jazz FO to have the pick leaked like... 3 days before the draft. This just looks so much like something they would say if they wanted to convince the teams behind us that they don't need to worry and don't need to try to trade above us to take another prospect(like Ace for example).

I've been talking myself into liking this pick, and honestly it hasn't been too hard. He has a lot of issues of course, but he also appears to be a hard worker with some elite ball handling and driving skills.

I'd still probably pick Bailey or Tre if either are there at 5, but on the other hand I like players who are easy to root for, and Fears is exactly that.

Unrelated to this draft, but do you remember when we offered Favors + #5 for #1 to draft Wiggins? That was one hell of an offer, and it was hardly mentioned and just ignored by the national media. It seems like the few times we have a good pick, it just doesn`t matter too much as we just can`t hit that special player in the top of the draft.

I think the draft is likely to unfold:

1. Mavs - Flagg
2. Spurs - Harper
3. Sixers - Edgecombe
4. Hornets - Tre Johnson
5. Jazz - Bailey
6. Wizards - Fears

The pick that's most likely to move is Philly's.

If the sixers take Edgecombe, my money is on the Hornets trading back and for someone else to jump up and grab Bailey.

Honestly, my preference, assuming Flagg/Harper/VJ are gone, is Ace/Tre/Fears in that order, and not by much. I won't be upset with any of them and will hope that the Jazz scouting and coaching staff knows what they're doing.
