Utah Jazz Select Ace Bailey, Pick 5

I couldn’t have passed on him. They made the right call.

I kinda feel like everything the organization should be focused on is figuring out how to maximize Ace’s potential. Supreme talent who has some real decision-making issues. If they hit on this pick it could be seismic.
Simple. Give him the ball and let him cook. That's what he always wanted. Definitely more fundamentally sound on the ball than both Jabari Smith and MPJ. Would be a huge waste of his talent if we make him stand in the corner. Even if he doesn't pan out, his volatility would at least be somewhat fun to watch and help us secure another year of tank for a shot at AJ/Peterson/Booz in 2026.

He needs to learn how to impact or drive winning. And one big impediment to that could be the "let him cook" idea.

Another one could be if he continues to listen to this assclown that's representing him.

It's a legit bad look that Ace has let some inexperienced idiot this close to him.

It's a bad thing but maybe not a bad thing. If yall don't mind me psychoanalyzing a bit: His agent is just dumb but Ace himself hired the guy because he knows him and is a family friend (I think? I need to look into it more). That tells me that Ace values personal relationships and is a loyal guy, even if the person (his agent) is making some questionable decisions on his behalf. If Ace gets to the point where he feels like Utah is his home/where he wants to play, he could be a 1 franchise kind of guy.

This is interesting! Let's see how far this agent wants to go with this, because Ace is lock in with us unless he wants to sit out a year and try the next draft.
doesn't utah hold his rights for longer than that? is it seriously just a year and you go back into the draft? that doesn't seem right, but it never happens, so who knows.

Dude, when you have generational wealth that needs to be secured, and a career that needs to be put on the right path, you don't just start mixing in family and friends because of loyalty. This is ****ing obvious.
