2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

This deal saves the Celtics a ridiculous bag. It is probably around $80 million. I would in intrigued by their first and Sexton / Anfernee are similar players.

Swap springer with Juzang or Svi and it still works but it doesn't save the same bag.

I could be talked in to giving them a pick swap in 2027 with the worst of our 2 picks so long as we retain the 2026.

That’s good. IF the Lakers like Sexton, I wonder if a bigger deal could be pulled off with Boston, the Lakers and our Jazz. Something around…

Lakers gets Sexton
Boston gets Vincent, Knecht, and massive savings
Utah gets Simons and draft assets from both the Lakers and Celtics

The Celtics didn’t retain so much draft capital by throwing around picks in salary dumps.

They have to send something, but it ain’t a 1st.

Yeah, i doubt it, but if they want expiring contracts for nothing... it ain't happening. Who in this market is going to drop $8 - $9 million extra in salary to get Anfernee Simons without getting an asset in return.

And we are talking about HUGE money. $80 million is a lot of Cavier and Cheese.

Just depends how badly they want to get below the 2nd Apron and what other avenues they have to do it.

They saved a lot more money in the Jrue and Porzingis deals and didn’t give up a 1st. They also got under the 2nd apron already (still in the LT, though).

Why do you want to burst my bubbles numberica? I blow one and you pop it. Sad face emoji every time. Lol.

I do see us as a natural trade partner for the Celtics given relationships and expiring contracts and their desire to reduce payroll but what's in it for us?

You make some fine points but it’s not going to be a 1st… though maybe they’d do a lottery-protected, but those become a nightmare for the sending team regarding their ability to trade other 1sts. I need to take a look at what they have available, maybe they have another team’s 1st that is already protected or something.

I think we’d be looking at 2nds, maybe a swap.
