Yeah, but an elite (or a floor general for that matter, doesn't have to be "elite") floor general really elevates everyone else's game. My question is, does Rivers elevate his teammate's game? Not saying I would be opposed to drafting him, because I wouldn't. Just not sure if he can be an effective PG with the way he likes to play.
 
Count me on the Austin Rivers bandwagon. I think he can play PG. He should have had a lot of assists if his teammates made some shots. Watching him I could see him play the PG. Marshall also impressed me with his game. He looks a lot faster than I expected. I don't know if he can do that in the NBA but I was impressed.

I would love getting Barnes and Rivers. If that happened the Jazz would be contenders for sure. I am still not sold on Barnes outside shooting but what I liked was that he realized that he wasn't making jumpshots so he made the adjustment and went inside. I think Rivers may be more of a combo guard but I would still take him.

The problem is Rivers most likely won't leave this year. The only way the Jazz would have a chance to get both is if they came out and the Jazz don't make the playoffs and they get lucky in the lotto. Even with that I doubt we could get both. I would take a shot at Marshall if the Jazz had a late first round pick.:)
 
Duke doesn't have any interior players to speak of (sorry, Plumlee isn't it). The guards have to bomb away. I didn't see the tail end of the game. Duke was still down by about 9 when I walked out on it, and Rivers was getting double-teamed above the 3-pt. line. He's definitely a drive-and-kick type player and more of a combo-guard, but he's definitely more explosive and a better shooter than Marshall.

This game probably puts Rivers clearly above Wroten, just for clutchness.

It's hard to say, because I couldn't tell who Rivers was supposed to be passing to in this game. He also played off the ball a lot. Given his size, I think he really needs to play PG. If he's coachable, it could work, but he needs to commit to setting people up. He definitely has the handles, enough speed and the shooting threat to be able to do that.
 
My top 3 based upon what the Jazz need. 1)Barnes 2) Rivers 3) MKG. I would be excited if we got one of these three. If we got two of them I would be giddy.

Here is my master plan. Tank the season so we can get two top picks. Get either Barnes or MKG and then Rivers. Trade AJ for a 1st round pick so we can get Marshall around 18 to 24 pick.

Starters Marshall, Rivers, Barnes/MKG Favors/Kanter

Rivers, Burks Hayward Millsap Kanters/Favors then the Jazz can find a third big in the draft or FA to back up Favors/Kanter. Now that would be an awesome team. Yea I know it isn't realistic but I can dream.
 
Also, off topic, but why did Zeller have his damn hands down on that last play. When a guy is sizing you up for a solid 5 seconds you have to know he is looking for the three ball. They need a 3 to win, so put your damn hands up before he starts shooting. Make him drive past you and go for the tie or pass it.
 
I'm still not sold on Barnes. I'd take Miller and maybe MKG over Barnes. Actually, Terrence Ross is someone I'd consider along with Barnes. Barnes is a spot-up shooter, a good shooter, but he doesn't always take high-percentage shots. He should be a better rebounder and inside finisher than he is, just given his size. He'll have nights when he gets hot, but I think Jeremy Lamb and Terrence Ross will be better pros just because they are quicker and more multi-dimensional.
