What does an improved Keyonte look like?

Virtually without fail, Locke and all his guests are hearing that Keyonte "won the summer" among guys who stuck around in SLC during the summer. Curious what you think this might look like.

Keyonte's always been clearly talented, but it's the efficiency, defense and (to a extent) the BB awareness that's kept him from being a clear-cut starter. It seems that these are some of the hardest areas to ascertain in summer settings. So what do you think everyone's been seeing in Keyonte, given that we can't yet know what the whole package will look like until we see real competitive situations?
 
A better Keyonte would be better and quicker at making decisions so he can be more dynamic and creative with the ball rather than just do one predictable thing--e.g., take the jumper, drive for his runner, etc.

Then there's making shots and playing defense.

He's a great athlete. He had one of the best dunks of the year last year. It's just about learning to leverage his athleticism more to score in the paint
 
For me it is all about efficiency. As Jerry Sloan once said "I don't need a shooting guard, anyone will shoot it. I need a make-it guard".

Defense is also probably 1B.

I'll try and be positive here. Keyonte has a good bit of athleticism that I hope can be channeled into the defensive end and getting to the rim more. He has a great knack for foul drawing so any improvements in efficiency should be geared towards utilizing his athleticism to get to the rim more. More efficient shots at the rim along with the opportunity to draw more fouls. If he does that along with taking the half step to being a great 3 point shooter vs. just an ok one; There could be an offensive breakout in the cards.

I won't hope for league average defense. Just show some sort of defensive improvement.
 
I think Keyonte will get offered a pretty big contract if he hits free agency or gets traded somewhere. I think there will be teams that will value him. His role with the Jazz has been exaggerated due to the Jazz lacking other self-creating offensive players. But if he settles in as a 3rd or 4th option guy on a more established team, he should be fine. Guys like Spencer Dinwiddie and Reggie Jackson have made close to $100M in their careers.
 
I don't care how much he can or will improve on offense or in his decision-making. If George does not level up on defense he should not be in the Jazz long-term plans.
 
simple. the same as last year, but instead 54% TS, 58% TS - that's what we need from Key. That probably takes his average ppg from 17 to 18 or 19. A Key who averages 18.5 ppg, 6 assists on 58% TS is a very good player - and that gives us hope that he could become a 20+ ppg on 60%+ TS guy very soon.
