Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Fears and Dash Daniels sharing a court right now.
- Dash looks like he's going to be a very versatile defender. He isn't involved in the offense at all.
- Fears can't make a shot and has made some bad decisions.

Fears - 22min, 7pts/3re/3ast/5to 3 for15 from the field
Daniels - 27min, 11pt/6reb/1ast/1stl 5 for 10 from the field

I like Dash, he looks more like an elite role player than a star, but I think he will be a good NBA player.

I know that the Pelicans have no reason to try and be bad, but if Zion or Murphy III are out for any lengthy period of time, they could have the worst record in the NBA.

I have the Pels as 13th in the West. Zion + Murphy + Jones + Poole + their centers should be enough to win at least 31 or 32 games. Pels and Suns are probably the 13th and 14th teams in the West just above the Jazz.

Fears came off the bench today. That's probably a good sign for hoping they have a better record for the Jazz.

I think Fears could be good long term, but I would expect him to be a huge negative to their team this year.
They have just put themselves in a tough position. I think they have wanted to move away from Zion for a while but offers likely not good. If he plays well the offers might be there... but if you move him then your team goes in the trash can and losing a high pick looks bad.

Everything they did this offseason was weird. Even the Poole deal. Why take on an extra year of Poole and offload CJ? I know it was partly tax related but wyd?

Just checked out the box score... Fears was bad bad. Man we may have dodged a bullet there. Old man Ainge reportedly loved him.

His brother is an elite role player.

Dyson and Dash are similar in that they are both defensively oriented guards, but they go about it differently. Dyson is more of a pest/disruptor, but Dash is more of a versatile defender that relies on strength and positioning.

At least that's my take after very limited film.

He was my pick for the Jazz at #21 in last summer's draft before he withdrew. Karim Lopez is considered the best international prospect this year though.

"Might" be, I'm not saying that he is, this all based off of very limited data. I know and understand that Lopez is the highest ranked guy currently.

I'll just note that development isn't linear and I don't know if Lopez has shown much growth yet where De Larrea has. There is still a lot of basketball to be played though.

The Jazz still don't have a high-level advantage creator. This is the guy that the team can run their offense through who creates advantages for other players on the floor. Not sure where the Jazz will get one if not in this draft. Peterson, Dybantsa and maybe Yessoufou look like the best candidates so far.

Ament could be a sleeper lead initiator. It's just hard to tell before his body fills out.

What about Brown? He seems to have some momentum.
