Following Potential 2026 Draftees

AJ has scored over 15 points in every game. He just passed Kevin Durant for most consecutive games with at least 15 points to begin a career in the big 12

I usually don’t put a lot of weight on individual highlights, but this is bonkers:
-drives and finishes with his off-hand
-injures the defense being met at the rim by two defenders
-lifts off one leg in traffic outside the restricted area

This is just monster stuff. Key could not do this at the same stage in development. He also looks bigger/longer to me.
the entire video is fun, but start at about the 52 second mark.

not his off-hand, injuring somebody means nothing, lifts off in traffic outside the restricted area. this is just monster stuff key literally did at a YOUNGER stage of development. Brown is longer.

listen, they aren't clones. but they are combo guards in that 6'3"/6'4" range who have similar skillsets.

Keyonte played fat too at Baylor. Said he was like 215 or something.

right and he could still explode like that while being significantly overweight. kinda crazy.

iirc, he lost about 30 lbs from just prior to the start of his freshman season, to when draft workouts started in may. he lost a lot of it over the course of the season and by the time draft workouts started, he was in pretty elite shape.

I’m not trying to have a pissing match, this highlight is not in the same tier at all. For starters, he jumped off two feet, the ball barely cleared the cup, was in semi-transition/built up steam without the ball.

Where I’m at is less Keyonte or Brown and more Keyonte and Brown.

Nit as explosive, but the defense was in better position on the Keyonte dunk

Because we got a scheduled win?
My guess is he looked at the standings for the entire season rather than just at one game.
When I look at the standings it's discouraging for the pick.

For instance, look at the most recent post in the tank race and prediction thread (soberashotrod post)

When you look at the standings you see the Jazz have one of the hardest remaining schedules

No, one of the hardest remaining schedules is what you see when you look at the remaining schedules.
Standings simply show current wins and losses of teams and how they compare with the rest of the league. The standings show that the jazz are in the 9th spot for lottery/draft purposes.

Pretty good game highlight video highlighting AJ's bag here. The plays to pay the most attention to are the very first play, the play at the 41 second mark (should have been an and 1 as he was hit on the elbow), the play at the 1:04 mark, and the final play in the video. All 4 plays are basically the same thing and are his go to move which is pretty much unstoppable. He can get that shot whenever he wants and he is very efficient at knocking it down:

A lot of guys have a big bag. Take Keyonte for instance. He can score in many ways from all 3 levels. One thing he lacks though is a true go to, nearly unstoppable, move when your team needs a bucket.
Thats the nice thing about AJ. He also has a big ol diverse bag but if you are ever down 1 or 2 with 20 seconds left in a game you can dump it to AJ in the mid post or he can dribble his way into the mid post and then get his step back/fadeaway jumper that is nearly unstoppable and nearly automatic. Only way to really stop it is to send a double team in which case AJ is a good and willing passer to find the open man.

I would like AJ to be quicker into actions and better playing in a system. And have more concise biomechanics (his limbs kinda flop around/too much wasted movement). I also don’t think almost anyone in the NBA regularly get cleared out post-ups that eat 5 seconds of the clock, so I’m not sure we should be happy that that’s where he seems to get a lot of his buckets.
