Following Potential 2026 Draftees

The draft gets a bit tricky for the Jazz if they're picking in the 6 - 8 range. Ament is probably still the favorite to go #5 due to his high ceiling. The guys in the 6 - 8 range look to be mostly guards.

I wish Tounde was a bit more explosive, had a tighter handle and was a more natural passer off the dribble. I love the physical profile, but his guard skills appear to be fairly middling at the moment.

Ament has been mostly disappointing. I think he could eventually be really good, but I'm not interested in drafting a project in the 6-8 range.

Philon is pretty firmly at 5 for me right now, I'm not sure how someone wouldn't be impressed with what he has done so far this year. After that there are a bunch of very interesting players and I'm just waiting for things to shake out. Flemings, Brown Jr, Steinbach, Quaintence, Carr, etc. are all in the mix.

Please explain why Ament has a high ceiling. He's the definition of a late lottery, late teens prospect

If Steinbach measures up to Senguin when they do the measurements, I think he's an easy choice at 5 for a lot of teams. I'd still probably go Carr for the Jazz.

But I also love Keaton Wagler. Would be a great fit next to Keyonte/Ace. He legitimately plays PG for Illinois as a Freshman 6'7 wing. He can do everything on the court. He's not a bad defender, he just needs to get stronger.

Is Fleming a true dog on the defensive end or is he just a steals guy? Stats are great, but I haven't really watched Houston live all year

I don't know if I would consider him in the 6-8 range, but Yaxel is another guy who should maybe be considered for the Jazz, especially if we are trying to be competitive next year. I can see him being impactful on both ends of the court on day 1.

I've only seen two Houston games live, but I would say he's very competitive on the defensive end. You kind of have to be to play for Houston. He's not a guy that is going to be super switchable, but I would currently rate him as a positive defender.

I'm growing increasingly skeptical of our chances to fall squarely in the bottom 8 (i.e. may need some lotto luck to keep that pick) if Keyonte keeps playing at this level.

I feel pretty good about Key being a dude you need to plan around when drafting this high. Torn on Flemings if we were in the 5-8 range and he was there. Someone said they remind him of Maxey both on and off the court. IDK if Key and Maxey is ideal but damn... I'd take that.

Carr/Steinbach likely keep rising but aren't talked about in that group just yet. I can't decide if I like Peat/Ament yet. Wonder if you landed 5 if you could get a great trade down price and get one of those guys that fits better.
