I wonder if Black for Kessler could be a base for a win-win a deal. We would need to add but no idea how much.We should cut salary right now.
And wait for next year to acquire Anthony Black as Magic can't afford to be mid second apron team.
A lineup of George/Ace/Black/Lauri/Kess will cause havok in the West for years to come.
Nah, the only Black trade that the Magic would do is for a cheaper discount player because of their salary cap situation.I wonder if Black for Kessler could be a base for a win-win a deal. We would need to add but no idea how much.
Before the season started I thought it would be an easy natural tank getting rid of JC, JC, and Sexton. I thought this would be a ****** offense to go along with an all time bad defense. What I didn’t know was that Key would rise to this level of good. Also an underrated part of the problem is Nurk makes this a much healthier offense. He’s a great passer and the best post up big we’ve had since Big Al I think. Key has clearly benefited from his playmaking more than anyone else.I expect a rerun of the first two years of the rebuild (****ing around until February, then absolutely desperate and shameful tanking to close out the season).
They’re not trading Lauri. Probably can’t find anyone that wants Nurk/Anderson/Niang, they might cut some of them but only after the deadline. They might trade Brice if they can pry away a (highly protected) 1st from someone.
Being a buyer on the trade market is a complete nonstarter.
TLDR; I don’t expect any fireworks at the deadline.
Nurk is the lowest hanging fruit on how to “ethically” tank. Wish they had the stones to let him go sooner than later. I suppose I should ponder the question of a trade more closely, but it doesn’t seem obvious to me who needs Nurk and has the room/matching salary to do so.Before the season started I thought it would be an easy natural tank getting rid of JC, JC, and Sexton.
