Is Nurk really the center we needed all along? Who knew? Gotta be one of the best games of his career. 16/18/10/1/1. Holy crap!

And I called it about Ace. Chuck him in the deep end, stop coddling his "development", and see what he can do, and boy did he respond. Great game. Maybe he breaks out now, who knows.

Collier with a true 6th man performance, at 18 pts, 10 asst, 4 boards. Damn.

I hate to see us win this, but they earned it.

Uhh, Ace failed when he did the deep end stuff. He got his points playing the way he has all year, off ball.

Yeah but in this one he wasn't playing behind Lauri, so he was the #2 really, which he really hasn't been. That is deep end enough to see what he could do. With a player like Key playing at the level he has been the best anyone else can really hope for is to be Robin to his Batman, and normally that is Lauri, so Ace gets passive. Good to see him elevated to Robin status and respond the way he did. Nice game.

Hell, even Flip has had a decent game, at least from a stats standpoint. 11 pts, 8 board. Considering how he has been total dog water all season this is almost a breakout game for him.

Yyeah, I didn't see that all. He tried some self creation in the first half and did nothing then he played the way he has all year. There was no #2. It was Keyonte scoring or Nurk/Collier setting up cutters/shooters.

I don't think Ace should be thrown in the "deep end" at all because he will certainly fail and it only drills in the negative tendencies he showed in college. Just keep being the off ball threat he has been all season.

But my outlook on Ace is more conservative. I don't really think he's a star or needs to be a star, especially with Key's emergence. He needs to be a 2-way off ball force
