What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Ehh, I didnt mind those aspects at all since they are visual clues. You still have to be paying attention to the movie to know, so I dont think it follows the recent Netflix slop model of heavy exposition at all times. There's far more extreme examples of "handholding" and flat out exposition where characters are explaining plot points every 10 minutes. I think the only critique I would have over that is that they showed her watching Survivor at her apartment, then showed the Survivor audition video on the plane, so a bit redundant on the Survivor references.

I would have edited out her watching Survivor at her house. Just showing the Survivor audition video on the plane would have been enough.
That is really what I was getting at. It didn't ruin the movie at all, but they did go kind of heavy-handed though.

Yeah, they drove home "awkward nerd who likes survival" to the extreme and the day to day surviving stuff on the island. I think they could have cut maybe 15 minutes of redundant scenes and it would have been a bit better.

I did like the twist at the end. It occurred to me about halfway through that there was something else going on. That fruit was too perfect for a true deserted island. Not gonna say any more for spoilers.

Watched a small budget movie called Coherence. Great plot idea and great acting but just didn't quite execute it well enough. My style of movie (confusing psychological thriller) and very interesting angle (comet passes close to the earth which causes chaos in the form of multiple dimension craziness) which could have been a much better movie if the writers and director etc were better (or had a bigger budget.
All in all it was worth a watch and then after watching I went to reddit and saw some interesting theories about different aspects of the film that kept me engaged.

I really liked that movie. Like you said it had issues, but for the budget I thought it was a great indie movie.
