Included the missed dunk because he did everything right but finish, would have been pretty nice if he had got that one to go

Love how Scola just got outta the way after taking the big Undertaker elbow to the collar bone.

Definitely not a bust. Kanter is coming along nicely. I think he will be getting in heads on defense and wouldn't be surprised if he begins to "draw" technicals from the guys he defends. *if he can keep up the defensive effort for extended minutes

I loved that dunk attempt. He showed more explosion, speed, and aggression on that play than any I've seen from him as an NBA player. I would like to see that in slow motion to see if he was fouled. If he can dunk from nearly the foul line, he should be able to finish that dunk regularly. I also loved his defense on Dalembert--the way he got in his face and hounded him. I thought he should have played in the fourth.

I think he lost the ball on the way up. Too hard to tell if he got fouled, or ball got tipped. I was happy with the attempt, but he should probably one hand it, or lay it up if he can't finish those.

Also, look at the great defensive rotation between Favors, Burks, Kanter at: 1:18 on the pick n roll. Earl should've rotated to cover the shooter, but other than that, the 3 rookies are impressing on the defensive end.
Burks basically stopped a dunk.

Good stuff. Love the way he meets Dalembert with resistance out on the floor. Love the way he wrests rebounds away from Scola. Kanter is a player who's going to get to the line a lot, just given how active he is. Players can't stay in front of him because he gets such deep position, and they can't block him without reaching over his body. He also has the ability to play with almost as much energy as Varejao.

Irving has been really solid so far. He's probably the person to beat.

I agree that he's been solid. His percentages for a guard are impressive. Where does he rank with regards to potential when compared to other recent PGs I wonder, from Rose, Tyreke, Curry, Wall, Lawson, Rubio and whoever else I missed. That's probably a different thread though.

Kanter should be the best rebounder in his class, and a solid 2-way center. Meanwhile, Irving is doing great and we haven't seen the revenge of the Valanciunas.
