Is There Any Announccer Worse than Boler at Recognizing a 3 Point Shot?

Am I the only one who notices this? Does he just not have a good line of sight on the court or something? At least once a game he will call an obvious 2 a 3, and in many cases it's not even like the guy just has a foot on the line...I've heard him numerous times say it when the player is like 3-4 feet inside the arc.

Ok, I guess there's not much of a point to this thread other than to bitch about it, but I was just wondering if it drove anyone else crazy like it does me.

are you suggesting we let the young guy (harp) get more speaking time?
Nah, I say we package him with Locke and pick up an announcer with more upside in the off-season.

I've noticed it. He had one call in a recent game where they guy was probably five feet in front of the line and yet, "toes it for three...got it!"

Then again, I've been waiting for how many years for him to understand that a bounce pass and a skip pass are not the same thing.

"Bonner for three... NO! They give him a two". Give? That arc covering half that side of the court is there for a reason, glasses. You have to be behind it for three, not completely and obviously in front of it.

The Knick game was the worst. At the time I attributed it to a crappy vantage point (Locke had a shot of where the radio team was, after the game figured it was the same), now realize it is all Boler. It does make for some embarrassing moments when the wife is watching the game with me. He is becoming Hot Rod already, a Hot Rod without even a fraction of the basketball knowledge...

Last night was great. Well a 30 second stretch was. Loved Harpring jumping Boler re: his eyesight to which Boler responded he was wearing only one contact.

There was also one play in the Minny game where Boler said "Was that a 2 or a 3?" Made me think of this thread.
