Meanwhile, Deron the Killer is back

I wouldn't doubt if nets management told Deron ease off the gas here and there in order to look like they have a decent draft pick to trade with Lopez for Dwight.

I bet shortly after the all-star break Orlando will trade Dwight and Hedo for Lopez, Memo and NJ 2012 first round pick.

This would be great for the Jazz, since it will keep Deron and Dwight in the Eastern Conference, otherwise we may see them both in the west and that would hurt our championship aspirations in the coming years.

He stir fried Lin in his wok tonight. Love that guy. Still pathetic he got booed literally every time he touched it in ESA, then a little sally like Jimmer gets cheered for even when he hit shots. Deron should have his jersey retired in Utah and a statue built.

I will admit, I don't think he's given his full effort this season in NJ which is shameful in some regards - but Lin light him up last time out, and he took it personal. Good to see the killer that provided many joyous moments for us over five or six years.
A few things.

1. Deron got his, but so did Lin 21, 7, 9 is a very good game in it's self. I will give Deon credit though, his team did win the game.

2. Deron burned his bridge in Ut, and many believe he would've left regardless for a bigger market. Stockton and Malone made this franchise along with Sloan and Larry Miller. The fans cheering for the Jimmer is idiotic, I think a large part of that is BYU fans, they are loyal to certain former players like fanatics.

3. Maybe you are joking around, can't tell, but why should deron get a statue. For the majority of fans he's not beloved by jazz fans didn't get us to the finals only played 6 years has been off the team for only a year. If he gets his number retired it will probably be like Dantley getting his number retired years after he retires because of the divorce

4. Again not sure if your being serious, as far as the statue goes, but Stockton and Malone are beloved and even those who hate Malone can't deny the impact he had on the team along with Stockton. Stockton and Malone were the most loyal played through injuries that would've sidelined other players and set the standard for other players. As far as I'm concerned Stockton is the greatest pure pg, and Malone is the best Pf ever. One year after the trade Deron is an after thought. When you hear the name Utah Jazz you think of Stockton and Malone first.

Deron was a damn good player here, but to put him with Stockton and Malone is not going to happen. Get over your man crush and back the players we have. We dont care about Williams anymore he's not on the team, this shouldn't even be in the Jazz forum!

The statue was said in jest. But I do believe his jersey should be retired when he retires. If it weren't for him this franchise would absolutely be dead (who knows, maybe even folded by now). There isn't another player, specifically point guard, in the league who came in when he did who could've accomplished what he did.

Look at the roster now.. when I watch games on TV, ESA looks completely empty. If the season continues to go south, less and less fans will be showing up. D-Will revitalized the franchise in more ways than just the win column.

Agreed he's not in the same conversation as Stock or Malone, in regards to impact on the franchise or legacy as a player (still some time left in that category though), but to say this shouldn't be on the forum and he's as forgettable as any other former jazzman in the league like Stevenson, Humphries, Matthews, etc. is asinine.

He stir fried Lin in his wok tonight.

you need to go watch that SNL skit about Jeremy Lin and racial slurs.

Your comment is blatantly racist and you don't even realize it. Just because some sports writers do it doesn't make it right. And, it is offensive.

Imagine you said that Deron took him home and fried him up with some fried chicken and greens...it is the same thing and equally offensive.

Let's atleast try to talk about him without making it about race.
