As the Jazz season has progressed, I've become more and more intrigued with Harrison Barnes. If one of our lotto picks isn't high enough, trade both to move up to get him. He's ready to come in and score in the NBA. Hayward is still finding his way on how he can produce in the NBA. As I've said before, he came from a program in college where selflessness on the court was mandatory. In the NBA, he has to be more selfish. The pros is basically all 2 man game, or isos - and teams are starting to see he passes it 80%+ of the times he's in a pick and roll/pop situation with one of the bigs.
The point is that we need a consistent scorer from the perimeter, and Hayward probably won't be that for at least 1 or 2 more seasons. Hayward is a good enough to defender already, and he's going to get better with experience and strength, to make me comfortable enough to see a rookie like Barnes starting alongside him. Get rid of C.J., get rid of Howard, get rid of Bell (or keep him if he's fine with DNP's or max 10 min a game) and make Burks the 6th man.
Terrence Jones is another guy I love, but I haven't seen enough of him this year to see how improved - if at all - his handle is. If he can play the 3 in the NBA, then I'd be fine with him or Barnes.
Of course PG is our biggest need, but I'm hoping we get a good one via trade.

I just turned on the Illinios/Ohio St game only to see Leonard basically watch Buford get past him on the baseline (when Leonard had more than enough time to cut him off), then on the other side Leonard took a 15 ft jump shot when the guy defending him was missing about 6 inches in order to really defend him. I know that it is only a very small sample but Leonard would get destroyed by Jazz fans with that type of effort. Just say no thank you.

Lillard is getting to be very interesting. Been hearing and reading a lot that he has a great work ethic. I might consider him with a second pick. We also know he doesn't mind Utah.
MKG for MVP for taking out our only SF in turn making our 2nd half back-court rotation limited to play all 3 guys 20 straight minutes and severely limiting our spacing because we had to play Bryan Bryant too much.

He was referring to our second pick, which is slated at like 13th-14th right now if Im not mistaken.

So, honest assessment of MKG after watching him play your team? Serious question, because I've been conflicted on him for a couple months.
Also, awesome game by Marshall. Stock rises for me ..

He had a really good game. It was easy for him after Hood left though because we don't have a backup SF, so he was free to guard Bost and free on the offensive end to post up inside. Even when Hood was in, he was keeping y'all afloat with some nice hustle plays. Our tallest back-court player is 6'3 after Hood leaves.

I'm not much of a draft guru, but I did get to see Lillard play the other day. WSU was far ahead most of the game. The opposing coach made some good adjustments and the lead started to dwindle. I was impressed to see Lillard take over the game at that point and put them away. Tons of confidence.
If Jeremy Lin can be a successful NBA player, I don't see why Lillard can't. Look at what Lin has done just based off being quick, having a balanced scoring/passing mentality, and being able to run the pick n roll.
I dont know i love his hustle and defnese but his offensive game is all in transition and layups and dunks..
Hes gonna need to devleop a jumper and some moves evnetually to be more then just a good hustle energy player who can play d in the pros..
