What's new

Kenny the Jet agrees with me

He did , all nite. High praise for Gorday Haywood from Utah.

Will be interesting if Ty still benches Hayward when we come back. National praise & attention, could go a long way for Hayward.
You have a strange characterization of "benches".

Hayward has started every game that he's played in this year, and he's averaging nearly 28 MPG--the third-highest on the Jazz, #1 among Jazz wings, and just 3 short minutes per game than the player whom the Jazz should've picked instead (and who can be seen in the dunk contest today).

Sure is nice to to sit back and throw darts now. Pretty much everyone here wanted Ed Davis. Very few were screaming to draft George.

We have some nice bigs and an athletic wing....

We have nothing else.

No distributor, no leader, very soft overall, an unproven coach, and not a shooter among them.

We're a number of players away (and possibly a coach). And you can see it with our record.

I think that's just his accent. He's from the southern part of southern North Dakota

Barkley is from Alabama.

Utah players never get their names pronounced right.

For the longest time everyone called Dwill, Duh-ron.
Hayward is now Haywood.
Alec Burks will be Alex Burk.

God, if people can't get a simple name like Gordon Hayward right, I can only hope we don't draft a player with a name like Myck Kabongo...can you imagine Ron Boone struggling with that one?

Lets get a few things sorted out. Kenny Smith was not KNOWN as Kenny "the Jet" as a player unless it was localized to Houston. This seems to be
a knickname that ESPN has crowned him with to keep him topical. While a quick player Kenny was no speed demon. Young quick players today are
much faster than he ever was. He was a drop dead shooter when hot, and a heady player.

Second Ricky Rubio is NOT the second coming of Pete Maravich. While his passing is "fancy" his skills do not even approximate Maravich. He seems more like a flamboyant John Stockton
than a Pistol Pete. He is very nice player but he can never do the things Pete did. The only player who could do some of the Maravich stuff was Hot Rod Hundley but his stuff was mostly
for show also, and was sometimes fueled by bottled spirits. Hundley was one of the most talented players in NBA history but failed to reach greatness in any way.

You don't know **** about Hot Rod or Pistol Pete.
And Kenny is the fastest bull legged cripple in the world. Show the legend some respect.

Maybe Gordon should change his last name to Haywood. Haywood sounds tougher than the wuss that was backed off the line by J.J. Berea.

What are you??

*ahem

then, I proceeded to make 1000 posts about how we could acquire him via trade.

but, I'm still happy with Hayward, too. I think he'll be a good player. I hope Corbin is the right coach for him. He needs the ball in his hands more often; let him initiate.

I pimped Paul George and many questioned me and said he has no desire to play defense and doesn't have the will to be good. I also admit I really didn't want Greg Monroe and he has turned out to be a pretty good player. That being said, I thought George had the most potential and he could stroke it. Well, right now we really need a player that can shoot. Hopefully Hayward gets his stroke back

Irving is close to an All-Star now.
Griffin is in.
Cousins has that potential, but needs to change his attitude.
Wall is close and could go either way.
Evan Turner could possibly get there too.

Hayward and Paul George have a ways to go to become All Stars.

I'm surprised Tristan Thompson got in that game and Kanter didn't. Seems like Kanter should have been there.

The reality is that when China starts voting for All-Stars again, players like Derrick Rose and Deron Williams might end up coming off the bench behind Jeremy Lin.
