Does the Jefferson signing signal the end for Fes in Utah?

Though we did make an offer to Fes, it's doubtful that we will match any higher offers from other teams, especially now if we sign Jefferson and with Kosta under contract and Tomic waiting in the wings. So, do you think Fes will get another better offer?
 
Fess is 1 mil a year guy. We need to fill a roster spot with someone, might as well be him, since there aren't many cheaper options. But if he does bring a multi million dollar offer sheet, screw him. Kosta was a better prospect to begin with and showed improvement in the summer League. If Fess comes back, it is likely as 3d stringer "regardless".

I agree. Getting Jefferson buys Fes another year to develop. Still too early to give up on him. He's a huge 7 footer that fills a need.
 
Jefferson seems more like a C than a PF, but I understand he does both, which makes him more valuable than Boozer was, IMO. Boozer did not like playing C, which he was often asked to do. Also, I think Jefferson's numbers would go up in our structured offense.
As long as Fes is cheap, we can afford him. If not, he's gone.
I am still hoping we can trade AK and keep Matthews. With both rookie draft picks looking like SF's, and 0000 real SG's on the roster if Matthews exits, keeping Matthews seems like a way better idea than keeping AK.
Regarding Brewer, I see him more as a backup, replacing Korver on the roster, NOT as a replacement for a departing Matthews...

Fes will just have to wait until the Jazz are done making moves and then the Jazz will say Hey Fes here is a sandwich will you sign with Utah? And Fes will smile and then become our back up C, until Memo is back and then he will become #3. FYI Fes is much better then Kosta, Sorry Kosta I don't think that you even deserve a sandwich.
 
Did you see Kosta in the Summer League. He is improving and really working on bulking up. The guy is a worker, and in the end, I believe that this will gain him a lasting place in the NBA, perhaps only as a perennial backup, but you never know. He is only 20 years old. We shall see about Fes. I give him another year and see if he improves. If not, he will be out of the league soon.

I don't think you want to give on Kosta or Fes yet either. If Fes snags a $40 million contract from Portland, let him go, but at his size and price, he's worth a bench spot. Kosta has improved, too. And Evans is a project that I have some faith in based on KOC's shrewd scouring of 2nd rounders (all you KOC ranters have to at least give him his props there). I think you need a team that is comprised of both established players and potential that you develop. You just don't pay potential top dollar.

As for AK, I'd like to see him re-sign this off-season for a reasonable amount. He's overpaid, even by his estimate. And that probably makes him a trade chip, but if the FO can gut it out this year and bring him back for what he's worth, he's certainly someone I'm excited to see come off the bench. Players that can legimately play 2 or 3 positions are rare. Combine him with Jefferson and Sap and, maybe, Haywood, and you've got a great core that way.

if we can sign ak to a reasonable amount and sign another great asset i say go for it. but that would be giving up loads of deals at the trade deadline that could give us a really good player.. maybe a player that could get us really deep in the playoffs
