I am watching jazz basketball for last 10 years due to Memo Okur factor cause i am big fan of him. So i am one of the traditional jazz fan who was very sad after Sloan's leaving and the players like Okur, Krilenko, D-will and even Booz. But the change was supposed to be made so i have been very optimistic about the future of the team thx to the young guys Kanter, Favors, Burks and sure Hayward.
Although i have been optimistic about the future, still not sure of the coach. I watched all matches this year and it is for sure that there is a wrong direction of the team. The aim for Jazz this year is being the 8th spot and having a chance to play in the playoffs and get swept by 1st and lose the draft prospects or providing the quality minutes to young guys whose limits are just the sky?
For example, Enes Kanter. Even all general NBA followers discussing if he was the right pick or worth for the 3rd pick. That is just not up to Kanter but Tyrone Corbin. This last Dallas match, how many times he got touched the ball to score? Just two times, 1st is offensive rebound and the second is one post up position. So his role is just being scrappy player who goes just for rebounds, defensive minded player. So u think it is gonna change in his sophomore year? Not at all. He already showed that he has some post up moves and 15 footer shots even though not consistant but u gotta let him try all to trust in himself and learn from mistakes but he is not allowed to do either.
Hayward: He got his minutes yeah but how many times Corbin tried to use his strength? He is not spot up shooter specialist. He is Hedo Turkoglu type player who likes to play some point forward and glue to the team but Corbin insists on him to score by making him bus waiter at the wing without touchin the ball on offense. Use him like Turkoglu of Orlando on offense and see the flow of it. Just try.
Burks: Yep, he is brave, knows how to take thefouls and goes to FT but u gotta warn him not to be a selfish player or ball hog. He is just like the other Nick Young who shoots all but never passes. Being aggressive is good but there is a limit for it. We all know he has potential to pass, defend and all but coach has to sharpen his other assets too.
Faywors: The same goes for Favors with Kanter. How many times he got passes in P n R positions? He is easily not post up guy opposite of Kanter, but perfect mobile and athletic guy who needs to get the pass while sliding to the rim but Corbin wanna him to be post up player so he loses the ball or pushes hard and takes the reaction.
Sorry it was long but i am really concerning about these factors and pissed off Corbin after Dallas match. Bored of him to use players wrong, believing starters too much, thinking himself so much by being classic one who never uses young guys and provide us mediocre team with no upside.
