Corbin losing the team?

First, there is the deal with Raja. Lets see how that works out, but an argument with a vet that leads to the player being sent home? Not good.

Then, from yesterday's Trib, Sap takes a veiled strong slap at Ty (at least that is what I read into it):

""They’re just a better basketball team than we are," said Millsap, who scored a team-high 26 points, grabbed seven rebounds and recorded four steals. "Defensively, they get at it. They stick to what they do. Offensively, they move, they set screens for each other, and help each other out. Things we need to get to doing; things we want to do."

Sounds to me like a coaching issue that Paul is pointing out, the team not doing the fundamental things that they need to do to win.

Sounds to me (At the the way I read into it) that its more a shot at the other players to get off their asses and start doing things that Paul does.. busting his butt, set screens, ect.

That is the way I read it at least.

I take it as a little of both. He seems to be telling players to get to work, but he also has that little jab at the end saying this is what we want to do.

Brian T. Smith is reporting that there's a meeting between Bell, Corbin, and O'Connor happening before the Pistons game today.

Bring me mai popcorn!

I'm not supporting the coaching staff right now, but it seems a little ridiculous to assert the following;

Hey coach!

Yeah, Team?

We'd really like to move more on offense, set screens for each other, and help each other out. What do you say?

Not on MY watch you won't! You get back out there and remain stagnant, do NOT set screens, and for the love of everything holy, DO NOT help each other out!!

"They’re just a better basketball team than we are," said Millsap...

this much at least is true

and at least as much as I'll give credit to Thibodeau, I think as much credit has to go to the players themselves, esp. Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah for inspiring a high level of intensity while keeping things loose and on a even keel.

It definitely helps to have talented personnel - and it doesn't seem to me that the there's anyone on the Jazz with either the basketball skills or leadership skills to inspire their teammates at all (and certainly not BOTH basketball and leadership skills)

I am sure the offensive structure known as "throw the ball to Al and see if he can do something with it" has got to be wearing down everyone's patience. When I play ball with guys like that all it takes is about 3 possessions and then I make sure that I don't get them the ball anymore. Good thing I don't have a coach around to chew me out.

not a lot to add to this.

When you then consider how committing to Al on offense is also a commitment to NOT COMMIT to defense, then I'm sure it gets even more frustrating.

It's hard to ignore the fact that Favors and Kanter DESERVE to play more than they do, and are clearly better than Al on defense... which is the ONE thing that Ty has tried to implement this season.

All of this is painfully obvious to the moderately educated fan. Don't you think it's plain-as-****ing-day to the guys in the locker room?

Yes, it is plain as day to them. Al is probably thrilled that Corbin is willing to overlook his lack of defense as long as he produces on the offensive end. Then that it turn creates a bigger black hole and I have noticed that others don't want to pass it now. Millsap is turning into a black hole himself. Not as much as Jefferson but this is the beginning. Corbin has created this monster and I hope the KOC can save him from it.

I can feel the lynch mob starting to form. Sign me up.

I think he's going to have some major trouble keeping this team motivated after the trade deadline. We've already heard the rumblings, Raja pissed that he sat out the 4th quarter in favor of Burks seems to be the tip of the iceberg. KOC needs to trade either Al or Millsap. If he doesn't, Corbin is stuck in neutral, with the front office not willing to commit to the future.

It's just so frustrating to watch how this team is being handled. Kanter and Favors need 25-30 minutes a night so that we have any idea of whether or not they can be cornerstones of a playoff team. Why haven't they even tried Millsap at the 3? Let me see Al, Favors, Millsap, Hayward, Harris on the floor together. Then rotate Kanter in for Al, move Hayward to the 3 and put Burks in for Millsap, with Watson for Harris. Mix things up, look at different options, just don't put the same 5 on the floor and rotate everyone out wholesale. I just don't think we should be done finding what team is best on the floor and who works well with each other.

Or, trade one of our bigs and open up the playing time logjam.

Maybe Raja will get suspended and BURKS will get more time. We can only hope. Let's pray Raja goes off in that meeting and KOC has no choice.

Wrong. The offense with The Four and Harris or Watson is proven stagnant brackish water. I want MOAR to tank this ****er and improve the draft pick.

That ain't on Ty. He has to play the veterans or the team loses.

Can't imagine it would be Bell requesting the meeting, nor Corbin. Would have to be KOC hearing rumblings and demanding a meeting. Bell wouldn't call it because, as a vet, Bell would know the GM has to always support the coach (until he's decided to be fired .. can't allow the inmates to run the assylum). Corbin wouldn't call it because he would be telling the GM, that as the HC, he can't do his job. Therefore, there must be some fairly serious issues if it's getting back to KOC and he feels he has to intervene .. that action shows the team he's not confident Ty can handle it alone.

Reaching? Maybe .. but that's how I read it.
