What would you give up for a top 3 pick?

According to Billy King there are only 3 good players in this draft, so what would you be willing to give up to get one?

Kanter if it meant getting Davis. I've grown to like Kanter, but Davis and Favors would be bring unspeakable defense. That is going to be impossible to trade up to the #1 spot though.

None of the other guys really intrigue me enough to aggressively trade up for them. Rather takes risk on the later lottery guys, who I also think are pretty good.

1. Billy King is an idiot. I mean look at the fantastic job he has done with the Nets.
2. I'd gave any combination of players ouside The Four.

Well I would have gave up a shot at the playoffs this year. Too late for that though. That's the great thing about losing. You don't have to give up anything.

I'm just praying KOC has some trick up his sleeve to move us up in the draft.

So maybe like Millsap+ gs pick+ our pick could get us anthony Davis. Seriously doubt it though. But maybe we can get high enough for someone like kidd gihlchrist. Not sure how much I'm willing to give up though for that.

Good news is that our needs ( pg, sf) are in the later part of the lottery. But I'm not against getting another big. We can just hog them all.

Say we have picks 9 & 12. Would you do those plus Millsap? I'd prefer the two picks plus a future 1st rounder, if possible, but if you twisted my arm on Millsap I'd be tempted.

No. I wouldn't even trade the 9 & 12 for the #3. That should wind up being Thomas Robinson, PF, that, while I love the guy, he may not be any better than Millsap.

I'm with Cy .. #1, Davis, is worth nearly anything, but after him, things are fairly even through the lottery, imo.

Ummmm... I'm not sure...

It depends on what's available at 9 & 12. Right now it's too far out for me to really have much of an idea.

Personally, I think the Jazz have several holes to fill, so getting more draft picks might be good. PG and shooting...

Davis is the only guy at the top of the draft that I'm interested in. I can't see any team trading the pick.

I agree, keep the picks we have. See if we can package like Harris and Millsap or something. Imagine the #3,9 and 12. Land MKG, a PG and a SF/SG. Jazz would be set.

This. Davis is probably the only player I would trade any of our young guys for. Meanwhile, NJ will be hating life if any of their top 3 slips to 4.

The #1 pick is the only pick that I'd give both picks for, plus any combo of players except Favors and Hayward.

My opinion is that if we keep looking for the draft to solve our problems (especially outside the top 2-3 picks), then we're always going to be young and inexperienced and at best a 6-7 seed. I would prefer to package what we got to get a top pick (surest way to get an all-star) and then we'll have bucket loads of cap space after next year to go after DH12 and CP3. Okay that last part may be wishful thinking, but I do think having 6 extremely young guys would be a little extreme, and I think after next year we could possibly land a franchise guy in FA.

I'd argue Kanter is the better man/post defender while Favors is the better help defender/shot blocker.

I think defensively Kanter/Davis would actually be better than Davis/Favors.

I lie. I'm pretty high on MKG, too. If we can move up to get him, then draft Lillard, then steal Machado in the second round.... stoked.
It'd be great if we could move up by using our expiring contracts. The Dwight saga 2.0 might provide that.

Watson/Lillard/Machado
Burks/Hayward
Hayward/MKG
Millsap/Kanter
Favors/Kanter

Some gaps here, but, yeah.

I think they're both right ... just depending on matchups.

Can someone tell me how we didn't get in on nj giving away a little pick? Was there nothing we could have givin them? All they got was Gerald Wallace. Man they are dumb.

If we trade our picks + Millsap and wait till 2013 to get our PG, here's what our team could look like

PG - (Harden, Curry, CP3, Lawson)
SG - Burks, Hayward
SF - (Barnes, MKG, Brittney Griner), Hayward
PF - Favors
C - Kanter, (Pekovic)

As much as I'm NOT high on Barnes' overall game, he may be perfect for the future Jazz. Just seems like we're going to have a bunch of guys that can get into the lane .. slashers. They need someone to kick out to. And anyone that makes an assertion that Barnes is akin to a Korver, well, put them on ignore.
