nbadraft.net doesn't have him projected to be drafted, but after his performance against BYU, Jae Crowder deserves to be and now probably will be. 25 points, 16 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists in a 20 point victory. I realize many of you on this board might be BYU fans, so I am not trying to rub it in, but he could be a great second round steal for the Jazz. He has all the pedigree of a Jazz player, as his father Corey played for the team, Utah had good luck with another Marquette senior, he is built like a shorter Millsap at 6'6" & 235lbs, and would play the needed position of SF for the Jazz. Put him on the draft board KOC!!!

Can he play SF? I thought he could looking at his stats but I watched his last game before the tourney and he didn't seem quick enough to be a 3 man.

We don't have any late first or early 2nd round picks. If our second pick ends up around number 14 or 15 and guys who most of us seem to want (Lillard, Rivers, MKG, Miller, etc.) are off the board or if we've already gotten one of them with our first pick, I'd be all for drafting the BPA and then making a swap 10-20 spots later to get Crowder and a future 1st. Or something like that. Imagine a Rivers (around #9), Crowder (around #30) and future 1st out of this draft. Stockpile assets!!!
I don't know where Crowder ends up being drafted and I'm not sure he can play the 3, but what's important is the guy just knows how to play basketball. He's as well-rounded a player as his physical profile will allow him to be. Affects so many facets of the game and almost always in a positive way. If you can get him for the right cost, all other concerns are secondary. Guys like that find a way to get in and stay in the league at bare minimum. I want those guys on my team.

Crowder was the Big East player of the year. He's outplayed more than just Hartsock and Davies this season.

He is a 3. That's all he is unless he can somehow play some two. He's only 6'6" and isn't a post player so there is no way he's playing the 4 - I wouldn't even call him a tweener. The problem he may have and Corey Crowder had the same issue, is that he is pretty thick, so as you mentioned quickness could be an issue at times. But, like his dad, he's a pretty special athlete, so he should be able to overcome that most of the time.
I said in another thread. He's not a SF. He compares very favoarbly to a Chuck Hayes with a better shot. No way Hayes should have been playing this long at 6'6 and unathletic. Hard-nosed, smart, and tireless .. finds a way. I still think Crowder should go around late first .. but I agree with Numberica that he's the perfect complimentary player to a very good team.
