everyone on the laker forum loves shannon brown and calls him the momentum changer. the jazz are #1 when it comes to feeding off momentum, especially in the ESA. on top of that, he can play defense, he can slash and finish at the rim, he provides us with backup pg roll, he can shoot 3s, and he is still young and in same age area with all of our core players. he can grow and mature with these guys. i really like the idea of bringing brown to this team

I personally do not want to pay a guy 3 Million a year to back up Deron.

If he does have a 7 foot wing span and we know he obviously is way athletic and a good defender. And he has a better outside shot than Brewer. Why not start him at the 2 spot?

No way Jazz even consider him at the PG spot when we are in the luxury tax already. Way too much money to back up Deron.

I was online at the 1320kfan.com live blog for Locked on Sports and someone with the username (Craig) was chatting with all the live bloggers and Kevin Ferguson (Ferg) who was the moderator.

This guy said that he was told by a source that Shannon Brown is just a physical away from being a Jazz man.

Of course when he said that, everyone was like, Link, source, etc.

Kevin Ferguson asked him who his source was and he said, Craig Bolerjack, the Utah Jazz play by play commentator.

Ferg said he was going to call Boler and confirm it.

He never spoke another word about it in the Blog, but I suspect Boler shouldn't have leaked it.

I know this could be a rumor, but with the above link to support this, I thought I would share something I think I learned today.

Can he create shots for himself? If not athleticism does'nt mean much. Miles and Brewer are "athletic" too that way. If you are not a good shooter, you can atleast be a good scorer. If you are neither, dont call yourself a "shooting" guard.

I'll take him over Ronnie Price though, if that's what the Jazz inted to do.

He struggles with the same problems Brewer had, more or less. He can't take his man of the dribble because they give him a ton of space not fearing his jumper. He defenitely can dribble though. He does have the potential to develop a consistent 3 point shot, which is something Brewer will never do. In his first year with consistent minutes (last year), Brown knocked down 33% on threes, not bad. In college he shot 35% overall from three land and 39% his last year. If you can get him for 2.5 million compared to Brewer who may well demand 5 million with the Bulls bidding him up I say do it.

if youve been following my campaign to get shannon brown, i have said all along to start him at shooting guard because cj is too slow to guard the 2. im just saying that along with playing the 2, we have the option to have him play the 1 also so it gives us flexibility in both 1 and 2.

C: Jefferson-Memo-Fes
PF: Millsap-AK-Memo
SF: CJ-AK
SG: Brown-Hayward
PG: Dwill-Brown-Price

looks like a good lineup to compete in the west for me

Oh I see. Got ya. Make sense.

I still think we should sign Gaines for the 3rd point guard.

D-Will - Price - Gaines
Brown - Hayward
Miles - AK
Millsap - AK - Evans
Jefferson - Okur - Fesenko

I like that a lot actually. I think you are right about Brown. I don't want AK starting with Brown though. We would need Miles shooting on the court with Brown. AK is better served with Okur on the court off the bench.

wow! if the bulls do indeed get brewer, that gives us lot more possibility to get brown since the report has been said bulls and jazz have been interested in shannon brown. also if the bulls get brewer, 3 former jazzmen will be playing together just in a different uniform! my second fav team to watch probably would be the bulls if that were to happen

I'm down with Brown for 3 or less. I'd still take Brewer for the same money or a little more. The Jazz might need to get creative to really find the best 4th guy, but Brew or Brown would be fine with me.

What jersey would he wear? lol

High school: 21
College: 3
Cavs: 6
Bulls: 6
Cavs: 12
Lakers: 12

Can't wear 12
Can't wear 24
is Jeffers still on the team with 6?

Maybe number 3
