I know, I know, a freakin' trade proposal

Put this in another thread...think it may be our best option for moving Jefferson this off-season.

Jefferson for Maggette's expiring plus filler if needed.

Charlotte's offense is brutal (last in the league in scoring) and MJ's a moron so perhaps he'd consider a guy like Al to hang his hat on. God knows they could use a 20 point guy and with their slower style (20th in the league in possessions per game), and Biyombo behind Al (who is best at the 4 imo), I think they could be sold on that frontline and "the fit." And if both teams pretty much know that each respective player isn't currently in their long term plans, why not do a swap to see if the other could be? It certainly couldn't hurt.

We could start Maggs at the 3 next year, still bring Hayward off the bench (where he seems best) at the 2 or at the 3, and have one year to develop our draft pick(s) slowly before Maggs expires.

We'd then have a ton of options and cap space in the summer of 2013.

Don't hate it all. Should we run it by Myron Piggie?

Charlotte will be drafting #1 and I hope you know who the #1 pick is.. A big to go with BB.

Jefferson is the better player. Downgrading to Maggette seems pointless. Charlotte would have to offer incentive to do that deal.

Maggs is having an awful year no doubt but he's coming off of injury and with better health and in a much, much better environment, I think he'd be a great fit here. He is consistently at the top of the league as far as efficiency numbers go, something Jefferson only wishes he'd achieve, brings solid defense, athleticism, solid shooting, great efficiency (I had to mention it again), and a veteran presence, yet he's not 35 like Bell.

With Burks, Maggs and Co., we could lead the league in free throw attempts.

I doubt there's a team in the NBA that would pass on Davis at #1.

I never said Charlotte would. But even if they end up with the worst record, they still only have about a 25% chance of drafting first, and even if they do, that doesn't preclude them from trading for Jefferson. They'd still need some scoring, BADLY, and Davis isn't exactly that type of player. They may in fact want Jefferson even more to have a solid threesome up front.

Your mother's a whore.

I hate you and love you at the same time.

How many 2's do we need? Burks, Bell, Hayward, Martin...

I'm assuming that Raja is gone at the end of this season or relegated to a much smaller role.
Yes, Hayward needs to see some minutes at the 2, but he can split his time at the 3.
Where my argument breaks down a little is when you consider our coach doesn't have the guts to run Burks a little at the 1. If he did, there would be plenty of time for everybody.

The major point is that I just don't like Maggs.

You guys are delusional if you think we're gonna get a stud for Jefferson. There's a reason we want to trade him and it's not singularly because of our young depth up front.

Nobody's excited about Maggs (nor Jeffy but at least he's having a great season) so Charlotte would probably have to swap picks with us. I too believe they won't if they get the 1st pick but otherwise they might.

Jefferson + 9th pick
for
Maggs + 5th pick?

how do they end up with the 5th pick?

I couldn't trade Jefferson to a team like Charlotte. I would feel absolutely terrible for the guy. Besides, this trade isn't even that great.

Would consider offloading him to the Bucks, or Philly though.
