Mississippi passed a bill to raise the maximum alcohol content of beer to 8%. The previous limit was 5%. Woot woot. Your day will come Utah.
I recall reading that if just one of the handful of states that limit beer to 3.2% AC were to lift this requirement most of the beer makers would quit making 3.2. It just wouldn't be economically feasible for them to continue making this "special" brew.

I've stopped whining about the low alcohol content beer and instead happily give my monies to Epic. Their 825 State is the nectar of the gods.
I have to say that Epic is one hell of a brewery. Yes, the 825s State Stout is one of the better stouts I've had. Thier rye beer is great. Their Mild Ale is one of my wifes favorites. I like Copper Cone and Capt. Crompton's. I really like most of their beers. The exception for me is the Brainless on Peches or whatever it's called. Tasted a lot like barf to me.
Only problem, $3 plus per 22oz beer.

I can't even imagine drinking a beer with only 5% AC. Ugh, just terrible. Montana has awesome breweries and our alcohol laws rock. I guess that's what happens when you have 2 of the top 5 drunkest towns in America. Woo-hoo!
I totally agree it is awesome that more people will die and more families will be ruined. Huzzah!!!

Mississippi has too many dumb people as it is. Win win.
