What's new

How are we number 8 in these power rankings???? Seriously?????

People who don't follow the Jazz closely tend to think Carlos Boozer is a superstar based on his stats but they don't know that he doesn't play defense and misses 50% of his games. So who cares about what they think?

We have to be better than the Spurs and the Blazers at this point, no doubt about that.

No worries, everyone thought we'd just hover around the 8 seed last season after we got ousted by the Lakers in the 1st round the year before and we were for the bulk of the season in the hunt for the 2 seed in the west

The Thunder and Lakers are better than us. If you think otherwise you are kidding yourself. The Thunder are getting better too which is scary.

"Oklahoma City Thunder – This team is just scary. They have the strongest young core in all of basketball (my apologies to Portland, folks) and are only going to get better from here. Also, acquiring Cole Aldrich during the draft was an absolute coup for this team, I believe. Sam Presti has built a foundation that few saw coming this soon. I still think OKC could use another playmaker to play alongside Durant and Westbrook, but I think they are still good enough to hold down the number 3 spot right now."

Thankfully I think we improved, and will match up a little better with the top 2 teams in the West this year. I still don't see us beating them in the end though.

1. Lakers
2. Thunder
3/4. Utah or Dallas

Portland, and the Nuggets will be good this season, and may pass us in the end. Right now though I think we are a top 4 team, and they are outside looking in.

I think L.A. is the clear-cut number 1. Number 2, is kind of a toss-up, but Dallas has it. They are incredibly deep. OKC is 3, followed by Utah at 4, Houston @ 5, Denver @ 6, San Antonio @ 7 and Portland @ 8...there. done.

I think OKC will be right there in the hunt but remember when the Hornets exploded for 58 wins a couple years back then fell off? I think teams will be more ready for OKC this year and they won't be catching anyone by surprise. I wouldn't necessarily put them above us yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if they surpass us once the games start

the has beens? random site, can take their opinion too seriously, anyways there are still roster moves to be made.

Teams will prepare more for OKC, but you also have to account for their growth as a team.
They are VERY young, and have a lot of players that have higher ceilings. Their roster is stacked from top to bottom
with talent.

There is always chance things don't go well for them. Look at what happened to Portland last year.
Still, I don't see how you can place the Jazz over them right now.

I think the Thunder will be great, and I think Durant is unbelievably awesome, but they just squeezed into the playoffs last year. I don't see them leaping to 2 just by virtue of being a year older. I could be wrong. I also think we have made big strides this offseason. I can see the Jazz competing for a 60 win season next year. I could be wrong about that too... But think about this: if we had played well at the beginning of the season, instead of bottoming out in the horrible way that we did early on, we could easily have won 58 or 59 games last year.

Eh, I'm noticing now that the OP was a WC exclusive. According to the FS, we'd be 6. So, essentially, disregard my post.
