Interesting read. The idea of just humanity and no more divisions is compelling.

All humanity is One??! What a radical idea! Nobody has ever thought of that before.
I'm sorry, I missed the part where I indicated that this was an original concept or that this group invented the concept. As far as a radical idea I would agree with that. With the way things are going in this world I think it is a radical idea.
About every liberal or progressive believes in some variation of that concept. Either way, my neighbor is Bahai'i from Iran. Really nice guy.
I do not necessarily see anything that should be objectionable to conservatives on a basic level.
Someone like Scat wouldn't spend 50 pages worth defending a guy who killed a teenager simply because he sees it as a race issue (oh sorry, having all the facts before jumping to conclusions). And so on and so forth.
Again on a basic level. Seeing everyone as part of the human race instead of white, black, asian, latino...You can still be an freedom loving, capitalist supporting person who sees people that way. I was talking about that more than the one government type thing.
How? Conservatism is inherently isolationist. It is by definition attached to tradition. Those ideals are in fact in DIRECT opposition to humanism. You understand that if humanity is one, then you can't complain about immigration for example? It doesn't matter if they're taking your job, because there is no "they" or "you. Someone like Scat wouldn't spend 50 pages worth defending a guy who killed a teenager simply because he sees it as a race issue (oh sorry, having all the facts before jumping to conclusions). And so on and so forth.
I am sure some conservatives manage to be humanists, but I'd guess the percentage is small. I know religious people who are very much humanists, but they're not conservatives.
