Just curious what everyone thoughts are on the comparison of the two. Their numbers are pretty similar and Drummond might end up being the 3rd over all pick too. I get the feeling Drummond is going to be a bust. Im not sure about his motor and heart. He does have really good athleticism
though. I dont know much about him however. Thats where you come in.
 
Didn't really watch either in college that much. Never saw Favors play, and the games I saw of Drummond he always played well in. I think Drummond could be good, just depends on his motor. I think sometimes motor issues get overblown in some younger players, but sometimes they end up being right.
 
I don't watch college basketball at all, but 29% from the line seems a bit low, doesn't it?
 
I can close my eyes and make 3 out of 10 from the FT line—10 minutes later—I just went outside, in the dark, closed my eyes, and made 16 out of 50 FTs. 32%
 
Drummond is a decent prospect, but I feel like swapping Favors for him would set this team back a couple of years. He's very raw (much like favors out of college) and needs probably at least 2, maybe 3 years to be a good player. I'd love to have him, but he's not a sure thing.
 
There was a topic on real gm once of where Kanter Would have gone if he delcared in this years draft. I don't know if it was all Jazz fans or Turks but most people said Kanter would go 2nd in this years draft only behind Davis (Admnitedly not too many people replied to that forum). Most people on this forum like Favors more then Kanter it seems so ya I think Favors over Drummond all the way.

Edit: Lol nvm it was a Sullinger vs Kanter thread and only one person said Kanter would go 2nd overall! I have selective reading fo sho!
 
I hate trading/swapping players that are in years 1-3 in the NBA. Unless the player is a senior, otherwise it's usually too premature.
 
Drummond might have even more potential, but I think Favors will come much closer to actually reaching his potential. If I had to choose between them now, or even coming out of college, I'd go Favors all day.
 
I'd have a tough time giving up Favors for Davis, because there is no such thing as a "sure thing". I don't know why anyone would consider it for Drummond. Favors was better in every aspect of the game except blocks, and 29 %, that makes Ben Wallace look like a good FT shooter.
 
I'd trade anyone on the Jazz for Davis (@sgjazzfan).

As for Drummond vs. Favors, I'd stick with Favors. Drummond, I would say, has a higher ceiling, but even at that, it's not a whole lot more. I've watched Drummond, in person, probably 5 or 6 times and each time I was very underwhelmed .. sans one or two jaw-dropping plays .. which is why I'm not high on him. I still take him top 3 in this draft, though.

Also, in fairness, Drummond's lack of motor/heart is also somewhat similar to my still-perceived notion that Favors lacks the necessary killer instinct .. winner's instinct.

It's totally nuts that you, bluesrocker, wants to trade Favors for Drummond .. totally mind-numbing. Do you even watch any games?
