What's new

Derrick Favors Mix 2011-2012.

Did you put this together JJAS. If so there's rep coming your way. If he adds a jump shot his offensive ability would become elite too.

Nope, I can't take credit. Prodigy did all the hard work; I just get to enjoy it. For some reason, he hasn't been posting his stuff on here as often--must be busy. I appreciate these even more during the downtime. It's funny how I'm referring to no Jazz basketball as "downtime".

Great to watch. His progression from his rookie season to the end of this year was pretty astonishing - if he can make a similar leap between this year and next he could be absolutely dominant in all phases of the game. By far my favorite Jazz player at this point, thanks for posting!

He has the potential to be absolutely DEADLY in the pick and roll. What I would do for a Nash signing...

Which is why I'd love to get rid of Jefferson. Move to a pick n roll based offense. Hayward, and Favors would shine more in a Jefferson less team.

The Jazz traded away Adrian Dantley in a similar situation. He was unstoppable on offense with his go to move of backing people down using his huge butt. Dantley wasn't a fun player to watch, but he was a very effective scorer. He was definitely the go to guy and I remember wondering how the Jazz offense could function without him. Needless to say, Stockton and Malone blossomed once he was out of the way.

I just don't understand why Ty didn't do more Hayward Favors pick'n roll's. This should've been the goto play for this team when Hayward and Favors were on the floor at the same time.

I have a lot of hope for a great Favors and Hayward duel threat duo.

I was reading a Locke article that said Hayward was terrible in the pick n' roll this year. He had the worse #'s of any pick n roll ball handler on the team.

I'll take your word for it, but honestly Hayward wasn't given enough opportunity to get the needed repetition to get his mechanics of the pick n'roll down to run it smoothly, because he was too busy throwing the ball into the post.

I still remember that game vs. the lakers in his rookie year, he dominated that game and looked unstoppable in the pick'n roll offense particularly with Favors.

Hayward was really bad at finishing on the pick and roll, but this says nothing about his ability to pass the ball in the P&R. He's actually a great passer in the P&R and can also pass out to shooters when he drives. I'd like to see Harris and Burks run the P&R more with Favors because of their speed and driving ability.

I can't remember what exactly lock said, but I remember him saying Hayward had a high turnover rate out of pick n roll.

this.
Hayward NEEDS to add the floater to his arsenal. If he does this + gets consistent from a couple of spots on the three-point line, then it's to the moon.
