Marc Stein: Jazz-Warriors discuss pre-Lottery trade (Source says trade "likely")

Meaning two shots at winning the lottery, to get Shabazz. I'm not sure what's so tough to figure out here.

One of the picks is Top 6 protected, meaning we don't get it if it's number 1. I'm not sure what's so tough to figure out here.

I also don't see us being a lottery team next year in any way unless Favors, Hayward, Burks, and Kanter don't improve at all and Millsap is injured.

Well one thing in all this - Emeka Okafor probably just became very available.

NOH will have NO post offense with Davis/Okafor at the 4/5

A trade for Al could.....benefit both teams. Not even kidding.

On second thought, **** having Okafur for two more years. It would severely hinder our ability to go after a big FA next year.

Yeah, because Utah dominates the FA market.

I would only do the trade for 10 if Lillard is available at 10. We need offense, especially if we trade Al, and I think Lillard could provide that, but any other player I don't think will be worth getting Okafor for two years.

who cares?

we got what we most needed, a 4 game sweep against the Spurs... Experience!

It's funny to see this board get their panties is such a twist when a few weeks ago hardly anyone cared about the lotto and all everyone could talk about were the playoffs. If we really had cared about the draft, we should have lost against phx.

Then again, if we really cared about the playoffs, we would have done everything necessary to avoid the Ivan Drago of the West. If only we hadn't dumped games against the Tpups, NO (twice), etc. Then we could have played someone like the Lakers or Clippers or something.

Maybe we won't take any marquee players in FA, but we'll have the big bucks to spend and that's going to have more sway than location with 99% of the players.

Ain't gonna be available at 10. Lilliard is the flavor of the day and Chad Ford's love intrest. On the drive home some national NBA writer was talking Lilliard at No. 2 for Charlotte.

So we should tie up 14M in some mediocre ****head? Brilliant.

Lillard also isn't in Jay Bilas's top 10. There are a lot of equally talented players 5-14, so the order is going to be extremely hard to guess. Lillard being the best PG may get him drafted earlier than expected, but maybe not if teams decide they want size.

Okafor is a pretty good defender (or at least he use to be) and we don't really need to be spending money in the next two years. We could always amnesty him if we really wanted too.

I would take a Jefferson for Okafor with nothing else involved.

I just want Jefferson gone.
