PLAYERS WHO WERE INJURED FOR A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE SEASON WILL HAVE LOW RATINGS

Here's a link to the spreadsheet I created

Food For Thought

Not that I can take all that in and get it quickly, but some definite good sources of conversation in there and I appreciate the study/compilation. Rep'd (in 24).

Hmm...not sure how to read into the numbers because as you typed, injuries affect the rating, and the worst three players are players who had significant injuries.

You mean worst on the Jazz? Because I don't remember Walker/Knight/Henderson having significant injuries.

Actually (to the OP), don't you mean that injuries reduce the distance from zero? You have to have played significant minutes (as well as been very inefficient) to get the lowest rankings.

These are interesting stats, but it seems possible that they may overly factor in team ineptitude. Just for example, if you separated Diaw's SA stats from the Charlotte stats, I think you'd see a completely different picture, only part of which his mailing it in for Charlotte accounted for, I'd guess. I think (esp. looking at risers and fallers), as well that they heavily factor in how well the player fits into the team's concept that year and are likely only somewhat predictive of how well he might do in a different concept.

I'm still really not sure what offensive and defensive efficiency stats are measuring, either. I know in general, what it's supposed to mean, but I don't know specifically how it's derived.

With all that said, these stats (along with +/- stats which show something similar) should at least give us a little to think about when we want to get rid of Jefferson &/or Millsap.

Gordon Hayward FTW! I think he had a better season than his stats showed. Especially when the only thing wings do in the Jazz offense with Tyrone is pass the ball into the post.

Oh, and Watson, Howard, and Miles DO suck
