What's new

Tyreke Evans

The Kings desparately need a glue guy who can be productive without having the ball in his hands - and that's Noah.

Throwing Jefferson in front of them isn't going to change their minds.

And I tend to agree with Cyrone on Evans - his numbers are way over-inflated because he's on a crap team with no leadership and a new coach every year.. If he played with a winning franchise (like Bird and Magic - the comparison is laughable) his numbers would drop about 25%.

I have no interest in Evans personally. I do have interest in the 5th pick. I think that Cy is right that this is not about Evans and this is more about the pick. I could easily see a team like Phoenix being interested in a player like Evans that can play multiple position and can score as well. If the Jazz could get the 5th and then trade Evans I would be happy as can be.

So would I, but it's impossible. Like Candrew said they are looking for a defensive/glue guy. Millsap might be like that, but Noah is way better to have for his defensive and vocal presence.

If you would rather have Tyreke Evans over Joakim Noah you don't know **** about not being a dumb ***.

Especially Evans going into a contract year, meaning he is about to go from being a cheaply paid overrated ball hog to an overpaid overrated ball hog.

I think if this trade goes down it would be a huge boost for the Kings. I can't think of a better big man they could get to pair with Cousins in terms of how their games compliment each other.

Cousins can score from anywhere and can rebound. The problem is he isn't mentally focused and dedicated. Noah brings that mental focus and intensity that could rub off on Cousins, because I think Cousins is capable of doing that, he just needs someone to help lead him. I don't think Noah is scared to get into anyone's face and tell them what's what. Noah has anchored one of the best defensive teams over the past few years and is very vocal.

Cousins/Noah frontline, that thought just scares me going against it if the Kings can get their other 3 positions figured out.

I think Evans is solid starter in the NBA. He is the type of guy you see bad teams overpaying for(10M+). He could be a great contributor on most teams. I would take him over any of the wings/guards the Jazz have. I wouldn't pay more than 8 million a year for him. Nor would I give up a top 7 pick in this draft for him.

I like him more of a slasher/2 guard than a traditional point and at 6-6 220 he could play 2 guard most nights.

SG/Combo Guards who are ball dominate and can't shoot don't produce wins unless they are elite (Dwayne Wade). I think they can be good tools off the bench in 25 mpg roles, but other than that they are usually detrimental to your offense. There is always an opportunity for change, to change their style to fit into a team concept, but I think that can be hard for them to do (Monta Ellis with Curry never worked out).

I think Burks may have ended up being one of those players, but I think the Jazz are going to train him to be a complete player who can play within a team.

I can tell you what happened. He was out of the league at age 30. He was also a rookie of the year. He also had a bad attitude. He was actually better than Evans.

francis retired at 30 because of injury problems after scoring 10,000+ career points and playing in three all-star games. not saying francis lived up to his promise, either, but that's not the same as "washed up by 30."

and what evidence do you have that evans has a bad attitude? the only times i remember him being in the news for locker room stuff was all positive -- like when he came back from a 3-game injury this season and insisted that his coach keep him with the bench unit because the starters had been playing well without him. doesn't exactly sound like a cancer to me.

and shocker, you're right, i'm not actually suggesting WE get him. just think it's ridiculous to think he would form an absolutely dangerous backcourt duo with rose, or that he doesn't have a lot of special abilities and a bright career ahead. judging from others' reactions to CT, it doesn't look like i'm alone on that.

Ironic he also talks about Noah in the article too.

Weaving in and out of traffic going 120 mpg. Smart dude.

it's easy to say evans is a loser because he's on a losing team with no real direction. lots of guys have looked like losers three years in and then later flourished when they got in the right situation. i just think it's ridiculous to say they would give up joakim noah for, say, harrison barnes and that they don't really care about tyreke. you're painfully out of touch if you think he doesn't have star potential.

It's Jazzfanz nerd. People here, like Cyrone truly believe that any player outside the Jazz that puts up around 18 points per game + is not worthy of being on the Jazz. We need the typical 9 ppg players that supposedly play hardknocks basketball. The land of the Jazzfan. Man.

I always found it funny that no player in the league is worthy of being on this team.
